Hi! I picked this name because I am hoping to connect with some people on MF who are under 5 feet. I am new to MF but not to low carbing which has helped me take off 14 lbs. since I retired two years ago. I would love to chat with others who lose slowly. I keep reminding myself that each lb will have a greater impact on how I look, but it is hard to lose only 2 when everyone else is losing 5 or more. I live in Colorado and in Az, so would also love to connect with anyone else out west! I'm finding MF really easy after years of counting carbs and I love the oatmeal and crackers. They are a real treat!!! Fay :D

Hi Shortstuff! I'm not under 5' but my dd is. I'm usually a slow loser. Although, I started on the 18th & I've lost 4 lbs already. I'm pretty excited! :D Everyone here is super nice, WELCOME! :cleader:

hi to everyone

Postby shortstuff » January 23rd, 2006, 8:33 pm

I do want to say hi to everyone not just the shorties, but thought I would use this spot to reach out to other slow losers like myself. I am really hopeful that this diet will work for me since I seem to stall out on other diets with more calories. I need a little more patience to see what results the first week will bring. Fay

slow loser

Postby Jan » January 23rd, 2006, 8:54 pm

Hi Shortstuff,
I didn't respond at first because I'm tall 5'8" to be exact. I am a sloooooow loser!! -- but I'm a loser -- 50 pounds are gone forever!!
I have a medical condition which makes me a very very slow loser so I really wasn't sure if I could part with the pounds or not. In fact I've often said if a famine were to hit I would be one of the last walking around. Slow slow metabolism!! Don't worry you'll part with the pounds too. Just be very very compliant -- follow exactly -- drink you water and the pounds will be leaving. Don't skip meals -- that doesn't help at all -- in fact it will slooooow you down.
I'll be watching for you :D

shortstuff, The nice thing about this group is that we all have one thing in common while having such varied backgrounds and interests. It doesn't matter what size/shape/height we are. It doesn't matter how beautiful we are. We are all the same. :kool: :smoke: :yay: :nana: :yippee:

You have already helped me! With your first post, you've pointed out something that I hadn't thought of before. I'm 5'3"....considered short. I've always felt sorry for myself because my taller friends carry their weight so much better. But, you are right! Each pound I lose makes a bigger difference on me than it does on a tall person. Instead of feeling sorry and having pity parties for myself, I'm going to look at it that way from now on! Finally, a reason to live for short people!!!!!!!

"Short people got A reason.....short people got A reason.....short people got A reason to liveeeeeeeeee"

Thanks shortstuff!

Welcome Fay. It doesn't matter how slow you are losing...as long as you are losing and not gaining. You will do great. This is a great forum, full of very caring people. You will find all the support you need right here. And if you have questions about the diet, this is the place to get your answers. I'm new here too but I've received so much good advice and answers to my questions.

Can't wait to see your progress.
