Thanks for the warm welcome

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have been lurking around for a couple of days trying to read everything but there is a lot here to read. I ordered my Medifast this past weekend and can't wait for it to be here. I have read thru every success story at the official medifast web site and was so impressed. I have been on many diets and can usually lose about 30 lbs and then, for some reason or another, I give up. Yesterday I received a call to schedule my lap-band surgery and I told them that I decided not to do that at this time. I am very serious about losing the weight now as I am willing to go thru surgery to do it. After all the reading I have done for the past days, I believe that medifast is my solution. With new-found determination and all the support on this board I know I can do it and I am looking forward to the future me.

I think you made a very wise decision, Donna! You CAN do this! This is a much healthier option than surgery. There is a woman in my office who had lap bad surgery two weeks before I started MF. To date, she has lost four pounds more than I. Difference is, my food restriction is by choice, her is by force. I don't get sick when I eat, she does. I haven't had any post-op side effects, she has.

I hear you about losing weight and then stopping. Same here. What I have done this time (although I'm just 23 lbs into my weight loss) is to really pay attention to my own conversations that come up from time to time. I journal what's going on, and re-affirm that I am capable of creating the results I say I want.

I look forward to "seeing" you progress!

Hi Donna,

I am so glad you have made this choice. I think it is a much healthier choice in the long run and one that will give you the control.

Good luck and stay in touch. I am looking forward to hearing about your progress! :)

Thanks again for the welcome and reassurances on my decision. I just tracked my medifast shipment and it's in Louisville, KY and getting closer. Hope it's here by Monday cause I'm ready for it.

Good decision Donna. My sister had the procedure and while she has an astounding weight loss it has not come without problems. I wish you success in your determination to do it the healthy way.
