Hi there, I am also new. I started on Saturday and so far so good. I'm avoiding the scale until Saturday and hopefully will have a nice surprise. I'm not having trouble so far. I think the shakes, bars and hot chocolate taste really good. I'm not too crazy about the soup, so maybe I'll stick with shakes and bars primarily.

Welcome, Irishgirl!

You gotta play with the soups. I put a few drops of Mongolian Fire Oil and a splash of vinegar into the chicken noodle -- makes it "Chinese" and yummy. The chicken and wild rice people rave about around here; IMHO it's just "okay." It is definitely helped by the addition of some chicken bouillon (one cube) and a bit of Mrs. Dash. The minestrone is good; I usually add just a packet of beef bouillon to it. And I LOVE the chili; try it with some onion flakes, powdered garlic, cumin, and chili powder.

Don't forget -- only one bar a day.

If you stay 100 percent compliant this week, you will be very happy when you step on that scale. BTW, if you are interested, we do "roll call" around here on Sundays; check out that forum. That's when we weigh in and report the week's progress.

Welcome, Irish Girl! So glad you are joining us on the way to Thinville!

There are lots of ideas in the "lean cuisine" section of the boards to help make the food a bit tastier. That is where I discovered the sugar-free davinci syrups, which I love in my shakes. Makes them sooo yummy! My kids keep taking sips!

Happy shakin'!

Hey there Irishgirl!! :wavie:

Nice to meet ya!!! 24K and Kassilou are right - lotsa ways to make those soups MUCH better on Lean Cuisine link of this forum! I also found chunky diced tomatos that I add to my soups that have 2 carbs per 1/4 cup and no fat or sugar. Tha really helps the chili taste like Chili (especially over salad with salsa like a taco salad) and I add it to my MFast Minestrone with a Robust Tomato Fast Soup packet OR I add tomatos to my wild rice soup with smoked tabasco and voila... chicken tortilla soup.

Don't forget to drink LOTS and LOTS of water - like 100 oz. a day on this plan!

I look forward to learning more aboutcha & we are glad you found us!

Shake it like ya mean it!!

Thanks for the welcome! I know about the one bar a day rule. I will definitely check out the lean cuisine forum, although I'm such a creature of habit that just sticking with the shakes is not a problem for me. I think they taste good just the way they are. I'm a simple girl!

Welcome Irish Girl! I am also almost 100% Irish! My daughter is a beautiful red head and has great green eyes. My great, great...(go on and on) grandfather was King O'Brien from Ireland. And my daughter hopes to be an exchange student in Ireland some day!

Ok enough of that :D

This is a great site. I have come here to vent, to ask questions and read others success to be motivated. I went to bed after a really rough day yesterday and was so happy after the support of the friends on here with a great victory! I knew I'd wake up healthier and skinnier!!!

Welcome again - happy shakin' :exercise:

Welcome...
I love this way of loosing weight. Notice I didn't say d__t. I love the shakes especially in iced coffee(I've said this a number of times..sorry for redundency). I of course really enjoy bars. I TRY to save those for late night munchies though. Good luck Irish Girl :yay: .V
