Newbie on board!

Postby WhoDey » October 7th, 2006, 12:08 pm

I thought I would go ahead and introduce myself...tomorrow I finish my first complete week of Medifast! I started last month but didn't make it through a week (picked a bad week to do it) but in that week I learned what I liked and what I didn't like so when I ordered for this month I knew what I wanted (mainly shakes....I still have a soups but I just cannot get into them) and ordered so I am set.

My "offical weigh in" will be tommorrow morning but as of THIS morning I have already lost 7 pounds so I am excited! I have a lot more to go but I am pumped and know I can do it!

I have tried other various diets without much success, I was successful for a while but losing sooooooo slowly makes it hard to stay motivated so when I was online looking at various options and came across a website rating Medifast as the number one diet I thought, what do I have to lose other than weight?

I know I have only been on it for a week but honestly I have found it refreshing...I know I will hit rough times where temptation will come to bite me BUT at this point, I am LOVING IT! I bought one of the Magic Bullet Blenders and take it with me EVERYWHERE so that I can make a shake, I have an inverter in my van so anywhere I go I can plug it in and just do it which is nice. I bought and extra one to keep at work in my office so there is not excuse NOT do it.

I am looking forward to seeing less of me each and every week...and last night I faced my first BIG temptation with success and I am so proud of myself. My best friend and I went out with a few girlfriends to listen to a band play and while the rest of the girls munched on popcorn and drank their drinks (alcoholic beverages) I sat there and had a good time knowing I had ate my nice L&G mean before I left the house and had a shake thawing in the vehicle along with bar just in case...so instead of drinking and eating popcorn with everyone else I was able to focus on listening the band with my diet coke and had a GREAT time and when I left I was proud of myself.

I have enjoyed reading all the success in the "Studio" part and look forward to being one of those success stories! It is so inspirational to see someones success and knowing that I can do it as long as I apply myself and so far I am on the right road!

Hope to get to know a few of you and wish everyone the greatest of success down this road. We all deserve it because "nothing tastes better than thin feels" and I agree with that!

Amy! Welcome, welcome, welcome!!! You are doing a great job--7 lbs! That's awesome! You are so lucky to have found this forum. I truly attribute a whole lot of my success so far to the support, encouragement, and inspiration I have found here. This place ROCKS!!

So...that's where the luck part of it ends. The rest is hard work and dedication. Yuu seem to be pretty motivated, and that will help you through some difficult times. I suggest, if you haven't already done so, that you take your measurements now. When I feel as though I've stalled, or the scale is moving too slowly for me, the numbers on my tape measure provide me with another tool by which to gauge my efforts. Add a positive attitude and the ability to laugh at yourself, and there's nothioung that will be able to stop you!

Here's to our success!

Thanks guys, and I am looking forward the support on this forum.

I am motivated BUT I always start off everything motivated :). On the flip side though usually I lose slowly (aka Weight Watchers....I couldn't even imagine having to pay the 11 dollars for the next 5 years in order to lose the weight...ha ha) and losing slowly ALWAYS unmotivates me. I know there will be stalls and pitfalls BUT after checking out so many of your stories I feel confident that the hard work DOES pay off.

Cheers to ya'll and "keep shakin'".... ;) I look forward to getting to know many of you guys!

welcome to the forum. You will rock it. It is really helpful to know what you already like. I love the hot chocolate and deffinately reccommend it, but I am currently really into blending the choc. pudding with water and ice into a really creamy shake. YummY! The lean cuisine section has lots of ideas if you feel yourself getting bored.

Welcome, Amy... this is absolutely the best board on Medifast out there. The folks here are so supportive and their stories so uplifting. You really have to work hard NOT to succeed when you're here.

One little tip that helped me in the beginning when I'd hit those plateaus and/or the weight loss would slow down....try to visualize what you're going to look like once you reach your goal. I never could do that before Medifast...now I try and picture it every day. Keeps me motivated and if I can stick to this, anyone can.

Welcome, again. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on a great start! It sounds like you are very prepared for any situation and that is half the battle. I remember the first time I tried MF, it was a disaster because I wasn't prepared when I was out, or didn't have the right foods on hand for my L&Gs. You are on track for great success with MF.

Keep shakin'! :yay:

Hi Amy. You are gonna love Medifast & this forum. These folks are amazing. I have only been using (ha, I'm a user... ;) )Medifast since 7/31/06 but am so SOLD on the benefits I have experienced on it. If you have bad days, just come & look at the Studio photos. That will keep you inspired knowing that so many others have done it, so, you can too!
