Hardest part was for my buddy list on AOL, because once you cancel your subscription, you lose that account/name/buddy list name. My daughter was in the same boat, but I kept telling her to tell her friends, and now neither of us even uses the old AOL IM feature. We created new “like” names on AIM, and it’s just as easy. I went through the PayPal, and eBay switch, as well as my “favorites”
Trust me, I know, it’s like cutting the noose on an old friend. I think AOL knows, once they hook you, it’s very hard to let go. I loathe the thought of the old $23.90/month (was originally $14.xx years ago, and you only got a certain amount of hours per month) X the months I was on X the years – yikes! Cha-Ching. No wonder they don’t want to lose me.
They keep offering me the B.Y.O. on the DSL line for I think $9.95, but I just don’t see the need (for me anyway)
