I'm in, but there isn't any past order information there and I don't see my autoship order.

I logged in using my user name and password. Then I was asked to change my password because it had expired. When I clicked on my account, I could see a BeSlim tab. When I clicked on that, I saw that I could add an item, but I can't see what's already on my autoship order....hmmmmm somethin's missing. There's also a My orders tab, but there's no history there either.

BTW, I can still log on to the old site and change my order there until they get this right, I guess.

Lol, somebody needs to spell check the sight. Here's what I got when I clicked on "Quick Order":

"Quick Order...

Spell check won't catch most of that. What they need is an actual editor.

Sounds like that was written in India or something, Jo... :?

I'd stay away from the site for a while. This is a major deal with hundreds of thousands of data points to coordinate.

LOTS of ifs/thens to track down.

I've yet to see a database switch go smoothly.

I'm still not checkable there. But, I agree with Tony, the Customer Service folks as well as the HA people have been really terrific.

Yeah, and the poor person I talked to yesterday told me that once the system is finally up, they have to take all the orders that have been placed since the transition began and enter them all in by hand. That's sheets and sheets and sheets of orders! I told her that she had my deepest sympathies and she said, "Yes, I feel pretty bad for us, too."

How are BeSlim orders being affected, Unca, do you know? Let's say I made changes for someone who's order is supposed to ship tomorrow, do you think the changes will be processed?

Sure am glad I'm far away from the home office right now. I bet there are lots of sweaty palms as we wait for all the bugs to be worked outl.

No major software change ever goes smoothly!

Postby scubaduber » August 3rd, 2006, 11:40 pm

It looks like TSFL is learning that lesson the hard way. I spent 30+ years working on developing software for the computers that run the Pacific Northwest Electric Power Grid. That is 24/7/365 that it is expected to be up and running. People are used to being able to get up at 3 in the morning and have their lights work! Anyway, we knew a long time ago that when making even routine changes, a complete and exhaustive testing procedure was followed and other procedures were in place for backing off changes if they didn't work. And that happened a lot! Even very minor changes can result in big headaches. You know in computer talk, all of those Megabytes and Millions of lines of code any major software has (Windows XP has like 150 million lines of code in it)? Well just one single solitary bit (a byte has 8 bits) can be wrong and the whole system comes to a grinding halt! I tried to warn the TSFL IT staff about this back at conference but no one seemed to be worried about it then.

kinda funny too. I just got a email a few minutes ago saying the new site was up and running. So I go check and I still can't see my back office.
