HELP

Postby MISSANNE » March 21st, 2006, 9:18 pm

Hi girls!
I am new. I started MF last week and did great until Thursday. Thats the night without my kids and I struggled. I started again yesterday but blew it tonight. Whats wrong with me? I am really struggling always having to tell people "no thanks". I never realized how much eating out I do with others!!!!Not sure what happened. I was getting ready to make my chicken for my l/g and next thing you know, I had eaten like 10 strands of licorice! I gotta do this!!!!!

Missanne ~

Clean out the cupboards! Totally do a clean sweep - leave nothing behind - flush it, send it to the garbage disposer, dump it in the dippy dumpster...carry no cash with you in your purse or pockets so you cannot stop at the candy machine or the drive-thru...if you have to have a Medfast packet every hour and a half the first five days to keep from eating  forbidden stuff, do it.

Do everything within your power to stick totally to the program for a week - act as if your life depends on it and by then, you will be safely thru the  killer time and into the Flab-burning state - you will then have the :weightlift: power to :lightsword: resist the enemy cupboards and refer!

You can do it! Yes, you CAN, if you will...

Hi MissAnne,
Changing habits is hard and that's just what eating has become for some of us -- a habit. Sometimes we even do what I call "auto-eating" You know reach out and before we know it we find something in our mouth.
Keep of track of your hand. Before we ever realize it -- the hand reaches out and stuffs something in our mouth.
I find pictures in the kitchen help also. Either positive ones -- a picture of a new outfit we want to shrink into or reminder ones -- a picture of us at our heaviest -- something we certainly don't want to maintain. That way we see something other than just food.
As for all the eating out. Don't worry that will get better. I go lots of times and just have a nice cup of tea and visit. You'll be able to do that in a while too. Right now all the foody things may be toooo tempting. I must admit at first I did try to wear pants that were just a little toooo tight in the waist. Just tight enough to be a great reminder!!
Keep going -- you'll make it and soon we'll be seeing the reports from you of pounds lost. And, you'll be joining the weight lost clubs too.
I'll keep watching for you

Welcome Aboard1

Postby Ginabobina1969 » March 22nd, 2006, 12:04 pm

Welcome!

This plan is very doable. You CAN do it. You have to get your mindset lined up with your wishes, dreams, desires of who you wanna be and what you want to accomplish. Nancy is right on the money all the time but one thing she sais(something along the lines of) is that all that food will be there to enjoy in smaller quantities, when you done with this diet.

There is a Daily pledge down in the Weight loss area..err or is that the weight room area.(Gina obviously needs some coffee) Anyway, Take that little daily pledge to be compliant to Medifast plan for at least 1 day!! One day is doable, right?

You can do this you just have to want it more then instant gratification!.

Hugssss

Missanne, Believe me, I know the feeling! It is so hard to resist the temtations. I was out with my 15 year old daughter today and she wanted to get a sub sandwich, so I got it for her, and sat there with her while she ate her sanwich(the bread smelled so good)and her potato chips, and to top it all off, she ate her chocoalte chip cookies. I sat there and sipped on a diet coke, and ate a MF peanut butter bar. Today was my weigh in day, and when I weighed this morning, I had only lost 1 pound in a week, which I found pretty discouraging. But the whole time while I was sitting with her while she was eating, I kept thinking, oh, go ahead and have what she's having, you only lost one pound anyway. But I didnt, I may have only lost 1 lb, but its one pound closer to my goal than I was last week. I have lost 27 lbs total since Feb 2nd, so I guess Im not doing that bad. So, the best advice I can give you is to just hang in there, and you will make it.

It's hard, but worth it!!

Postby igm46 » March 22nd, 2006, 8:05 pm

Hello Missanne,

Don't be so hard on yourself!! Tommorrow is another day. I started my seventh week on Monday, and just today I had to convince myself to keep driving as I passed my favorite bakery!! It does get easier. I remember by my third week I had convinced myself that I would finish the month and try something else. I'm so glad I didn't. Although, It is a life change, we've all lived this way for a long time. We cannot expect change overnight. Although it would be nice wouldn't it!! Hang in there and I'm sure before you know it, It won't be so hard to turn down what we know is bad for us. GOOD LUCK!!!!
