Hey there Slimmers…
In case you missed my post in the May 1st Monthly Specials Web Room and in other posts about the new Medifast Maryland Crab Soup, I thought I’d mention it here in the From Your Hosts Web Room.
Announcing Maryland Crab Soup
The flavorful Maryland Crab Soup is approved for diabetics, has only 2 grams of sugars and is lactose-free.
It has a tomato-based thick broth, carrots, peas, green beans, celery, corn and cabbage flakes
(Shhh…don’t tell my husband! He HATES cabbage but loves the Maryland Crab Soup!)
The carrots, corn and celery are sweet and provide a nice balance to the slightly peppery taste.
It is just about instant and can be prepared by stirring one packet into a cup of cool water and zapping it for a minute or so in the nuclear box, allow to rest for about 10 minutes with a cover on the bowl to permit the flavors to develop and the veggies to soften. It can be prepared on the stovetop as well. This fortified meal is fragrant and satisfying.
Here are the nutritional stats for the Maryland Crab Soup
13 g Protein (10 grams soy protein)
15 g Carbs
4 g Fiber

We like it with a packet of Medifast Garden Vegetable snack crackers. ($3.50 per box of 7 packettes). I spray the crackers with some Pam and sprinkle with celery and garlic salt and pop in the toaster oven for a few minutes.

New Program Booklet
Take Shape For Life is committed to providing you with the best program and products to help you reach your healthiest best and to stay that way.
We are not a diet company; we are the Optimal Health Company.
Most people find it difficult to make the necessary changes to their lifestyle on their own; people do best when they are linked with others who can encourage and support them in their quest to a healthier weight and lifestyle.
It is our desire that you learn to make the lasting changes necessary to stay healthy for life.
I know the program works – together my husband and I lost 195 greasy nasty pounds and we are enjoying the benefits of improved health and a joyful life as a result of following the prescribed program.
The Take Shape For Life programs coupled with Medifast meal replacement products provide safe and rapid weight loss WHEN the program is followed.
If you follow the program 100%, you will receive the greatest benefit but if you follow the program 90% of the time (or only partially), there is no reason to expect to receive 100% of the benefits.
It takes about three days for most people to get into the fat-burning state, energy increases and hunger diminishes; it takes a bit longer for cravings go away IF you follow the program and do not eat extra carbohydrates and extra calories. I love that about our program; when cravings went away, for the first time ever, I felt like I was in control of my life and I knew in my heart of hearts that the cheesecake was not gonna win!
Most people are on the 5 & 1 Program.
The program is clearly defined: 5 Medifast Meal Replacements (of the five Medifast meals, one may be a meal bar – people are not required to have a meal bar. If they so choose, for best weight loss results, they should eat only one bar per day.
The ‘1’ refers to a specifically defined regular food meal consisting of a particular portion size of protein and a clearly defined portion of vegetable.
Medifast meals are not carbohydrate-free; they are carefully designed to provide a balance of protein to carbohydrates to fat.
Take Shape For Life and Medifast recently released an update to their program booklet, The Quick Start Guide to further define the Lean and Green meal to help its clients learn how to balance their Lean and Green meal to include some fat along with the protein and carbohydrates.
Shellfish and white fish are among the very leanest protein options as is wild game such as elk or deer meat; buffalo is very lean as well. These protein servings provide a balanced meal when paired with vegetables (carbohydrates) and two fat serving allotments.
A grilled chork pop or a slice of boast reef ( sorry! Not a typo, it’s what I call ‘em – Can’t help it, after all these years it brings a grin to my family and friends) is higher in calories and fat than scallops, thus the serving size is slightly smaller and no additional fat needs to be added to make it a balanced meal if you have 5 ounces of grilled chork pop and one and a half cups of steamed asparagus.
The newly released Quick Start Guide makes it easy to plan a well-balanced Lean and Green meal and stay within the nutritional guidelines that provide rapid and safe weight loss.
The new Quick Start Program Guide also includes condiment selections and snack reminders. BTW, Bread, cake, cookies, pizza, popcorn and pasta are not on the approved list of snacks...

I am probably gonna have tuhmaters tossed at me here but since this is our personal website and we are the hosts of this web room, I am gonna share my opinion with any readers who happen upon my writings.
The term ‘program-compliant’ means to follow the program as it is outlined.
I lost 135 pounds by being program-compliant.
I did not eat one cookie crumb or a single morsel of anything not listed in the program booklet. I say that not to be hoisted on a pedestal or to sound like a program snob - I want people to know cravings go away when you follow the plan, people lose weight rapidly when they follow the plan; it is possible to stick to the plan and not go insane because the program works for us, not against us – when we follow the plan.
It totally bugs the puckies outta me when I read about people being “reasonably program compliant.”
Please do not expect to lose weight rapidly and safely if you are having 5 slices of pizza and 1 Taco.
It is not reasonable to expect a 2-5 pound weight loss per week if your daily meal plan consists of three Medifast shakes, two bars, a margarita and a basket of chips. The program works when the program is followed.
Yeah, you might say it is restrictive but IMHO, that’s a relative term – if ya wanna talk about restrictive, let me tell ya how restrictive it was for me to haul around 267 pounds of flabber.
Spending 8 weeks in a wheelchair was restrictive when I had casts up to my knee for foot surgery due to my obesity.
Diabetes is restrictive.
The weight loss phase is temporary; some diseases and illnesses are not.
My health became my priority and in light of the fact that the 7 month weight loss phase for me was relatively short compared to the more than four years of health and happiness I now experience, I say it was totally worth it to follow the Quick Start Guide as it is written.
To me, program compliant = following the book = rapid safe weight loss.
If you’ve fallen and can’t seem to get back on the Mediwagon, don'tcha dare give up on yourself.
Do not allow a sandwich or a hunk of chocolate cake rule your life.
Keep a journal.
If you bite it, write it – write down every single thing you eat – before you eat it.
Plan your day in advance.
Set out all 5 of your Medifast meal packets, decide what you will have for the Lean and Green meal.
It will take just three or four days to get back in the saddle – you CAN do it.
Be sure to eat every two to two and a half hours.
Do not skip a meal. You will not lose weight faster. The safe fastest way to weigh less is to follow the program guide...
Slug that water down. Glug, glug, slurp ‘n burp.
