New, one week today.

Postby Jonna » March 12th, 2007, 9:01 pm

Howdy from Texas, y'all. I weighed in two weeks ago at 244#. At 5'4" that's obese. I know you've all heard it before, but it sure is hard putting that down in the open. As if no one else noticed we have this "little" problem.

I have a few special issues, so my plan has been slightly modified: 5 and 1 LG with grain. I was born with one kidney and the renal artery obstructed the ureter. So, just before my second birthday, I had plastic surgery to repair the kidney (it was three times the size of an adult's.)

Also, we recently found out I have a bicuspid aortic valve (two leaflets instead of the normal three) with mild calcification. I am meds to control my blood pressure and pulse rate.

Because of all this, I get to see the nurse weekly and the nutritionist every other week.

I hope this plan works as well for me as many of the others on this forum. Thanks for posting your B4 and after pics - they're real inspirations.

I'm not sure yet. I need to compare the scales results at home with the ones at the doctor's. I'll do that tomorrow.

My results may be slower than I like because of the grains with the LG, but my doctor is very conservative. Which my husband likes.

Losing the weight is all that is important! You will do well.

Say, I forgot to ask--what part of Texas are you from? I live in the Dallas area--and there are other Texans here too. 8)

Image JONNA,
We're so happy you are here...and especially that your doctor is on board with you!
You will do fine, and 'slower' is okay, if that is the way it is!
It was for me, too!
Happy trucking!

According to our friends we live in South Dallas, but it's really Conroe. We started out just north of Houston and my husband keeps moving us further north a few miles at a time.

Thank you for your warm welcome. I stayed up very late last night studying the picuters and was super impressed with your accomplishment.

When I have some improvement to show, I'll send some pics. In spite of all my attempts to avoid them, I do have a few full body shots. Ugh!! I usually use a photo program to cut me out. ;)

I keep at it though. Its the best thing for me, so I continue.

 I remember when there used to be a space between Conroe and Houston and now it's all just Houston. I live in DC now but am originally from Dallas and have family in Houston.
