Glad to be here! Thanks to the encouragement and success of member Simmshe, I will be starting the 5-and-1 Medifast next week.
Stats: 5'2, 171lbs. Weight Loss Goal: Lose 46lbs by January 1, 2004.
A little background info: I'm no stranger to weight loss. From late 2000 to August 2001, I lost 60lbs thru good ol' fashioned exercising and dietary changes (going from 190lbs to 130lbs). Since then, I maintained a weight between 135-145 until February of this year (wasn't satisfied with that weight but at least healthy). However, since February 2004, I've gone from 145 to my current weight of 171lbs. This is such a setback for me--not only because of weight but because of health (symptoms of PCOS and diabetes are flaring).
You know, I've found that losing weight is not the hardest thing; maintenance is. I will acknowledge that my current weight gain is a result of an emotional eating response to coping with stress and a lack of physical activity. What I am aiming to do is to not only lose weight and maintain but to learn how to cope with emotions in relation to eating.
