NEW to Medifast and have a "newbie" question:)

Postby Denise Perry » November 28th, 2007, 2:35 pm

Hi. I placed my order to Medifast 2 days ago and waiting for the package to arrive. I'm very excited to start this program and appreciate reading all your comments. This is my first time on Medifast and I have a quick question for those who've been on the program more than 2 months. How much weight do you lose per week the first month? Thanks Denise

Welcome to the forum and to MF! I think you'll LOVE the plan!!

I'm currently in Week 8 of the program and my losses so far have been:

W1 -6.8
W2 -4.6
W3 +.2
W4 -4.4
W5 - 3.8
W6 - 3.4
W7 - 3.0
W8 - (it's only day 3 of week 8 and I'm down 2 pounds)

I'm averaging a half a pound a day.

Your rate of loss will depend on many factors, of course. The amount you have to lose will be a factor too. If you have a lot to lose, your weight loss could be more, you know? My goal is to lose roughly 94 pounds. If I had 194 to lose I may be losing like a pound a day - or less. Really, it depends on so many things. The MF average rate of loss is 2-5 pounds a week....that is the average of everyone - those with a lot and those with a little to lose.

I think for the best rate of loss though one needs to be 100% compliant. I have been 100% compliant since day 1 on the program and have been rewarded with a loss of 27.8 pounds and greater than 35 inches.

Best of luck to you!!!

Denise,
If your original name here was dbedrosi, then you should be able to get in now. An Admin had to "okay" you, and so I did. If that isn't you, well, I don't see you in the list of new registered users.

Hi denise, welcome to the world of MF, the biggest bunch of LOSERS. I am in my 6th week on plan (i have restarted several times over the past year and a half)...long story, but i'm here to stay now. So far, i have lost 17.6lbs. Some weeks were large (1st 2 weeks, i lost about 12.3 lbs) some weeks small (next 2 weeks, i lost 1.5 TOTAL) You might to expect to hit a plateau around week 3 or 4, many people do. Don't get discouraged, i kept plugging along and lost 2.5lbs the next week! Like "Out With The Old" said, "stay compliant". It will work if you make it work. I am averaging a loss of about .45lbs per day (compared to OWTO's .5lbs daily) So even though my weekly weight loss may differ from hers, we are almost on the same track. I'm not as much of a turtle that i thought i was. :D

Hi Denise,

Welcome!

Instead of weighing in weekly, I'm weighing in every 10 days for my 100-day challenge.

My weight loss has been as follows.
10 days: -11
20 days: -5
30 days: -4
40 days: -3
50 days: -6
60 days: -3
70 days: -4

Basically, I've noticed it averages to about 1/2 pound/day.

It really varies from person to person, and even for yourself depending on many variables.

Just stick with the plan as written and you'll see it works for you.

Glad you're here, can't wait to hear your successes!
