Ok well my cousin is on here and she has encouraged me to post on here as well, so here I am. We have been doing medifast for a little over a week and my first loss last week was jumping between 5.5-6 pounds. So I'm pretty happy with that!!! I find that my hardest times are when i am at work. We cook all the time there for the kids and we are constantly getting food from disney there and it is mostly sweets. So i find myself not in the kitchen there a lot anymore because i wanna eat if i am in there. Also before this I was the fastfood queen, and not its been a week and 2 days since fast food and i know i am craving it, what are some of ya'lls suggestions to fight those cravings?

Welcome, Rayray! Congrats on your initial loss!!

There's a TON of support here on the forum (no pun intended!), both in the information available, but moreso in the people you'll meet.

Have you read "Success in a Shaker Jar"? Lots of great stuff in there.

I go through times of craving everything I pass. Sometimes it takes sheer moment-by-moment determination. There's a thread here somewhere if you want to list your reasons WHY you're losing weight and/or WHAT you're looking forward to in your new, thin, svelt, totally mahvelous bod. Those things keep me going. (And boullion and pickles.)

I have a friend who ordered the appetite suppressant shakes and they seem to have made a real difference for her in avoiding cravings.

Glad to have you aboard!! Here's to our mutual success! :buddies:

Hi RayRay!

I LOVE your cousin and think she's SO GREAT! You have a VERY warm welcome from me!

I was also the fast-food queen. I had dreams of fast food for several weeks and cried when I drove past my favorite. For me, cravings only lasted about 10 minutes...so I would find something else to do for that 10-15 minutes...it'd go away.

Also, make sure you're eating your MF meals often enough. I was going too long between meals and that's when I REALLY noticed the cravings coming. Make sure you're eating every 2.5 to 3 hours. Also, if you can't stand it have an extra shake or supplement, it's WAY better than eating off plan or a full-blown cheat!

I swear it does get better! I'm just glad you're here!

Whenever I get into trouble, it's ALWAYS because I went too long without eating. Make it a habit to keep a bar or two in your purse, and stow a few packets in your car and office (if you have one). Try to always be prepared so you're not caught short. Starving tends to lead to cheating.

And if you have any questions at all, be sure to ask.

Welcome, and good luck!
Robin

Glad to have you here RayRay :). I hope this doesn't sound like an ad, but Medifast has changed my life. True, it isn't always easy, but walking around with high blood sugar and blood pressure isn't either. I wish you the best and hope you suceed.
