Hi, I'm new to here...

Postby BasPilot » March 28th, 2006, 9:43 am

Hi, my name is Josh. Me and my wife are both on the plan now, and we're doing quite well so far. She may be making posts on here already, or maybe she's just reading the forum, but I am going to go ahead and put some stuff up here because I'm the one of the two that is kinda not having fun out here...

A little bit about myself, I was a Marine for 5 years, and I got out, and got fat... unfortunately, too big. Now I wanna get back in shape and get myself to a condition where I can go back into the Marine Corps and be a pilot.

We will be completing our first full week tomorrow and it's a fight!

Welcome Josh and wife! :D

I didn't really have too much of a problem after the first few days. Those first few were tough though! If you follow the plan exactly and no  cheats then the hunger goes away to almost nothing and you get a bunch of energy all of a sudden. :goldprowl:

Make sure you drink all of your water too, try for one glass an hour but drink at the very least 64 ounces a day, which is 8 cups. Don't worry, you can do it!!

Hi Josh and wife,
Welcome to the forum....

Marine for 5 years?
You definitely know how to win a fight. You'll find every day getting a little easier. Stay tough through the first week or so, and you'll have it whooped.

During the course of your weight loss phase, you'll learn how to keep yourself at your healthy goal weight.

Be sure to check in often and let us know how both of you are doing.

Great you've got a partner with you.
Get 'er done....:)

Hi Josh,

I'm also on the plan with my husband. It makes it much easier to do it with someone else. I think after the first week you will feel much better. My husband has lost 36 pounds in 5 weeks. Make sure you and your wife check out the Lean Cuisine section also. There's lots of great ways to prepare the meals to make them taste quite good. And be creative with your L&G meals.

Good luck!

Welcome to you and your wife!! The first few weeks will be over before you know it and when you see that intitial weight loss that is all the incentive you will need to keep up the fight. Its great that you guys are doing this together! You can get real creative with all the meals read up on the lean cuisine and all of the things you can stock up on at the grocery store. The plan gets easier as you go along, and the food tastes better and better to you. I think its quite yummy!

Welcome Aboard!

Josh,

I am so glad that you and Wifey are along for the ride!!!

I know the two of you can do it, especially since you are determined together. It is harder to break down two people than one. I know when I am feeling weak my husband is always a huge support, he scolds me when necessary. Sometimes I wanna get mad, but I know he is doing it to help me achieve my goal, and not to mention because he loves me.

Keep up the great work and the battle will seem so much easier before you know it!!!

HELLLLOOOOO Josh! I did 5 years on the Army and got out and got fat as well! Isn't it funny how they teach you to run run run run run and run and keep you active...but they still feed you, quite bit of food, not the right foods etc...and then just about everyone I see that gets out...gains quite a bit of weight!

WELCOME to the BEST support board around!!!!

Hi Josh,

Welcome to the forums! So glad to have you AND your DW! Let us know if there's anything we can do for you. We are a friendly group and being here is like having your own cheerleading squad follow you around to celebrate your victories!

My Daddy is a Marine Attack Pilot, he flew A-4 Skyhawks (retired) and I grew up a base brat. I also do some work with the Blue Angels... so all I have to say to you is...Semper FI!!!! Sounds like a GREAT motivating factor and a wonderful career goal!

Being a Marine, I KNOW YOU KNOW HOW TO FIGHT! It gets easier once you reach the medizone!
