Well I just moved flew back for a wedding and was talking to one of the other groomsmen and he told me that he lost 35lbs in a month using medifast so when I got back I looked it up and have read lots of this board. :)

I read through the medifast website but was wondering if the course was just a choice of either; 6 shackes a day or 5 shakes and the 1 lean. Is that right?

Is it hard to go to just the 6 shakes a day?

Thanks for any help. If you have any other tips let me know.

Hi and welcome to the forum, I look forward to your posts.

I have tried it both ways and I like the 6 shakes best.
For me it works out better, I didn't want to be bothered with the food aspect and really wanted a no-brainer.
I know that the men lose faster and the lean and green might work for you I think men need a little more food.

Whichever way ypu do it if you follow the prgram and drink the water you will lose.

Wow, 35lbs in 1 month did your buddy do the 6 shakes or the 5+1?

Well I started on the 6 shakes a day and then went to the 5 and one L&G. I have a family and social stuff just seems easier to me - plus I like to chew. I am with LH - it seems to me you might be better off with eating the L&G - is it hard to do six shakes a day... well in the begining it is really tough - but so is tying your shoes when you can't see your feet  . It is tough but really almost too easy once you get over the initial hunger and then the oh heck what am I supposed to do with all of my free time now that I don't spend every minute either eating or thinking about what I will be eating. Whatever you decide I know one thing. It really really works - if you follow the program you can kiss the wt goodbye. Best of luck, look forward to your posts, Mytime

Welcome.
As everyone else has said, yep, it is the 6 shakes/supplements or the 5 and 1. The six shakes/supplements is a little difficult to do. I do it personally because I dont like the hassle of 5 & 1 or the opportunity to cheat, but my friend tried to do the "complete" program (6 shakes) and she said she thought it was absolutely impossible. I would probably advise you to do the 5 & 1 because it allows you to eat some good normal food like chicken or fish etc. That makes it easier to stick with.
Also, dont expect that you will automatically loose 35 lbs the first month like your friend. It is a GREAT diet, but that is a lot even for medifast. I've been on it for about 2 1/2 weeks and I have lost 13 lbs. Men do tend to loose more then women though in general. Also, it depends on how overweight you are. If you are 200lbs overweight it's going to come off a lot faster then if you are 30 lbs. Have a great night and good luck!!!

Keep in mind, there's more than just shakes to choose from - there's soup, oatmeal, pudding, bars, hot chocolate, cappucino, ect - there is alot of choice besides the shakes. I do the 5 and 1, it's been 4 weeks and I'm down 18.6 lbs, so it really does work and you lose the weight fast enough, you stay motivated. Hope this is helpful, good luck.
Keep looking up, blessings on you, Sheila M.
