Postby Dani1976 » March 6th, 2005, 8:35 am

Hello to all :) I've been checking out the boards the last couple weeks and have decided this is the diet for me. I have had issues with my weight since I was a child. Three kids only made it worse. I have had enough and am ready to do something about it. I'm a very outgoing person and my weight has really affected my self esteem. My husband and I went on a cruise recently for a late honeymoon (we didn't get one 9 years ago) it was horrible, everything was about being in a bathing suit. My husband is not so understanding since he's 6 foot and 140 lbs. He can eat whatever he wants (and believe me he does) and it does not affect him. My close friends are all very thin, so I'm going at this alone. When I found this board I was so excited everyone is so supportive of one another and not judgmental. I'm really looking forward to this.
So my questions are:

How much food do you initially recommend ordering? (I don't want to overdue it initially in case there are things I do not like) (I do not want the starters since I'm not a bar fan)

How long does it take to get your food?

I would like to know if there is a big weight loss difference between the 5 and 1 and the all supplement diet? Which do you recommend since I have 80 pounds to lose?

Thanks,
Danielle
P. S
My starting weight is 216 :(

Hi Danielle and welcom.

I don't know what to tell you as far as how much to order. I started out with a starter kit and went from there. But remember that you need 6 boxes of whatever combination of products you order to get you through a week if you are doing the full fast. Each box has 7 packets in it.

I go back and forth from the 5 and 1 plan to full fasting, depending on my schedule that particular day. I generally full fast at least 3 days a week, and do 5 an 1 the other. This is the end of my 5th week on the plan and have lost 23 pounds, so doung the 5 and 1 doesn't seem to be slowing things down much. Even if it is, I'm still quite happy with the loss I've had so far.

How quickly you get your products will depend on the method of shipping. If you order over $200 of product, you get free upgraded FedEx shipping. I usually get my product on the 3rd day after I order. If you order less than $200, I do believe you have the option to upgrade your shipping, but of course that costs extra.....otherwise, shipping is via UPS ground and can take 7-10 days I believe. The one time I ordered less than $200, I received my product on the 5th business day after odering.

Hope this helps. Good luck!!

Hi Dani! Congrats on making the decision to become a healthier you! You have found the perfect place to help you with that goal. Before this forum, I had a very difficult time keeping myself on the weight loss path and accountable. Now, I have an entirely new outlook and a great group of friends who support me with all of their hearts! How much better can it be!

As for your questions --- If you are not under a physicians care, you should NOT do the full fast. Full fast should only be done under the guidance of a doctor. There are some threads in here that talk about the weight loss differences between the two plans as being very minor.

As for ordering the food - I went with a starter pack - chocolate lovers since I LOVE chocolate. Didn't find anything in it I didn't like and I happen to love the bars. (In addition, right now there is a special for first time ordering on the 1 month starter pack that gives you one week free -- so you pay for 3 weeks of food instead of 4) But if you don't get all giddy over the bars, then ordering individually would be the way to go.

I would definitely recommend a month's worth of the food - since this will put you over the $200 mark - which gives you FREE 3-day fed-ex shipping. Ordering under $200 you have to pay for the shipping AND it goes ground - so can take 7 - 10 days. Read through the lean cuisine section of this forum -- there are many threads on the likes and dislikes of certain replacements; and different recipes people have created with their foods. I would suggest if you are uncertain about a replacement, to purchase the sample packet first. (I really like normal food chili and ordered the MF chili thinking how could I not like it -- but turned out I just couldn't stomach it at all no matter how I tried to doctor it up) It's all about individual tastes.

Make sure that you register through this website so that your purchases roll into Nancy and Terry's TSFL business. All you have to do it click the SHOP NOW button on the left side of the main page. From there you create an account and you can shop away!

Good luck to you and make sure to read the boards often AND post in the Sunday morning Roll Call.

Good to have you on board!

Welcome Dani! I ordered 2 weeks to start and that put me just over the $200 so I got the free shipping. I had not found this list first so was naturally skeptical about the products, the results, the taste, etc. I ordered indiv/ so I got what I thought I would like.

I am on full fast and occassionally have a 5:1 plan bec. of my work schedule including lunches! So I eat my meal of chicken/salad at lunch. I really prefer the full fast as that is the easiest for me. No choices, no owrrying that I am eating too much, etc.

Good luck and get started. You'll LOVE it!

Hi Dani!
Welcome to the boards :) I buy my food in 2 week increments because I can't really afford to chump off the whole month in one shot. I ordered the month the first time because of the 1 week free, but I usually order every 2 weeks for 2 weeks. :)
