New to board!

Postby monkeegirl » October 3rd, 2006, 10:04 am

Hello everyone. I am Julie, and I am new to the board, and new to Medifast as of Sunday. So far, I am doing great, and actually very shocked that the foods are so good. I never thought I would be able to follow a plan with shakes and bars. I am finding that way of thinking was wrong.

A very nice customer of mine told me about the Medifast program during a conversation about dieting woes. I have slowly gained about 60 lbs over the past 10 years from pregnancies and health issues. I was telling my customer that I was having a hysterectomy on 9/27/06, and planned to start WW again when I return home. She told me WW never worked for her and she finally found a plan that she is losing weight quickly and her doctor approved---Medifast. I had heard of it, but honestly never considered it as an option. I thought it was unhealthy to consume only premade foods. LOL. After hearing my customer's raves, she has lost over 70 lbs in a very short time--I did some research on the program. On my pre-op appointment with my Dr, he also thought the program would be great for me. So I ordered my foods and they came while I was in the hospital. I just came home on Sunday, and yes, I am feeling pretty terrible from the surgery, but I am following the plan with no issues whatsoever. I am really enjoying the shakes (awesome mixing recipes on this site!) and the bars are very delicious. I am excited to have a goal that I can honestly see myself reaching. It is difficult for me to be on bedrest for so long, but I feel it is a time for me to reflect and really try and change some of my behaviors. I normally am working 24/7 and have three home based businesses that keep me swamped. Now due to my health and recovery from surgery, I am forced to take it easy. So that is what I am doing!

Glad I found this board, this is going to make the program that much easier to follow with all the support!

Thanks again,
Julie

Keep your chin held high, and your thoughts where they seem to be now. You will do great with the attitude you have. I have lost over 120 lbs now and am working toward my goal. Most others here have been very successful in quite a short period of time. Much less than what it took us to gain the weight anyhow.

Good luck and keep on shaking!

Thanks so much!
Right before I found out I had to have my hysterectomy, I was following Jenny Craig. I did great for the first month, then I just stopped losing......I even joined Curves.....nothing....It was really frustrating, and I felt so shakey. My doctor told me the JC program was too high in carbs for me, and I needed a higher protein diet. So I just kinda quit for a while until I heard about this program. The fact that it is a protein diet is just perfect for me and my blood sugar issues. I can't believe that I am not feeling shakey from it----even on pain meds, lol. Usually my first week on a diet I am really shakey, but I am feeling pretty good.

Hi Julie - WELCOME!!!

I have done Jenny Craig, WW, Nutri-system, LA Weight Loss, Atkins (and maybe other programs I can't think of). This is the fastest, easiest one I've been on!

Good luck - you have a great attitude and are off to a terrific start!

Ya' got that right!!
Truly. I attribute a great deal of my success on this program to this forum. The folks here are really wonderful--and so very inspirational! Just take a look in the Studio whenever you need an instant lift!

I have been reading the posts most the day, and feel like I know all of you.

I lurked on this board for a good two weeks before I actually joined and really felt the same way. My first post was almost stalkerish, I knew so much about everyone!!

Anyway, a great big welcome to you monkeegirl (that's cute!), and here's to our success!!
