New to MF and starting to feel failure...

Postby bamamomof5 » April 25th, 2006, 8:55 am

I did so well for two weeks... Nothing could get in the way of me and my "old body"... I lost 8 lbs and the cheating began... not only was I actually cheating I was CONSTANTLY thinking of cheating... the Easter bunny brought JUNK pure JUNK to my 5 children and guess who is devouring it with the thought that if it is gone I will be able to "re-focus" I am down a total of 10lbs and the cheating hasn't made me gain... but the losing has stopped and I don't want to stop!!! I want to lose 5lbs by next Tuesday when I weigh again and I need help (WILLPOWER) to do it... Is is better to excersise or not? I excersise and feel like it's ok to consume more... but my legs are so discusting when I walk I can't bear to not do anything... I am desperate for help and my DH is just working to much and has such a high metabolisim(sp) he has no concept of why this is so hard, no matter how supportive he is...so I am reaching out... hopefully someone out there can help me get through the next few days, weeks, months etc... I wan tto find the "old me" body, and soul...

You need to quit beating yourself up about the past... Start from right now, this moment.....

Vow that for the next 3 hours you won't have anything but m/f products... you can do that, anyone can do that... then in 3 hours have another product, and make another vow...

You just have to keep telling yourself that you can do this. read the posts on the board, so many people, men and women that have been successful with this program. all feeling exactly like you when they started....

tell yourself that they are no better than you, no more will power than you, they just did it, that is the only difference.

It is hard at first, but they say if you can accomplish something for 15 days straight it becomes a habit. I am on day 26 today, and I can honestly say that the cravings are for the most part gone.

Every now and then there is this twinge, but that is all, keep it up, you can do this... trust me , If I can do this, anyone can do this...

we are all here for you, hang in there....

just keep telling yourself...

Nothing tastes as good as being thin will feel.....

I am praying for you..

Terri

We have all been where you are!!! If all that Easter candy isn't gone, go ahead and toss it or put it out of sight.

Just think about it - you've lost TEN WHOLE POUNDS!!! Here's a visual for you, think of two 5-lb bags of flour and how much space that takes up. Now imagine that carved out of your behind or tummy or whatever. That's quite a bit gone!! Every time you lose five more pounds, that's another bag of flour gone away. FOREVER.

Keep with it hon, and don't compare yourself with your hubby or someone on the board or anyone. This is about YOU and for YOU. I started with exercise just doing simple yoga stretches on the floor, moving on to walking a mile a day. As long as you are doing something and the scale is going in the right direction, you are a success!! :goodluck:

I can totally relate! It will NOT be easy to get back on track. But you CAN do it.

Find ways to reinspire yourself! Read the success stories on this forum. If you register, you can see the pictures in the Studio room and see other stuff you can't see as a guest. Watch "I lost it" on the discovery channel. Find that feeling that got you to begin this program in the first place. Tell those "I can't do this" feelings to TAKE A HIKE!!!

I also need some inspriation, as I've been feeling 'blah' about staying on program...so I am going to watch Dr. Phil today...don't usually get a chance to watch him...but he has a 700lbs woman on there today and he's going to try to help her gain control. I think this will inspire me to stay the course.

We're here routing for you :)

Had oatmeal for lunch...

Postby bamamomof5 » April 25th, 2006, 11:12 am

I am now going to eat the MF meal I want when I want... no longer do I have to have oatmeal at breakfast and soup at lunch... If I want oatmeal 2x a day it's not going to kill me... I honestly could do without most of the soups (I love the broccoli) so I just found the way to trade... it may inspire me! I am so happy I have found a new place!!! I will come here instead of my kitchen!! Thank you for all of your inspiration and with ya'll and the lord to guide me I CAN DO THIS! I also am making a commitment to quit watching the food channel... I LOVE LOVE LOVE Miss Paula but she is NOT helping!

Yep, I'm having to ground myself from watching Mrs. Paula for a while because I am from the South and Love, Love, Love to cook. Hubby is helping both by not asking for me to cook things I shouldn't eat and walking with me every evening. (Helps that his physician chewed his rear about his health at his last appt and told him he needed to stop smoking and lose about 40lbs himself). This was the Saturday before Easter and the doctor joked - just think of today's meal as your Last Supper...

Register and account and send me a PM. I would be happy to trade a box of brocolli to you, since I hate the stuff.

Hi BAMA,

You have done great so far. Already a member of the 10# Club, as soon as you get registered.

That is the best tip I can give. Register. Read and reread your Quick Start book. Call a Health Advisor (free)

Willpower will come easy once you are 100% compliant. It may be best to hold down on the exercise until your body adjusts. Your HA can advise you on all these things.

We're here for you Bama. You can do it!

bama, it's REALLY fine to only eat the products you like, when you like. It might even be NECESSARY to eat the ones you like the most to help get on track and less stressed. Here's a big hug to help you on the way!

Definitely don't limit yourself to certain Medifast meals at certain times (other than the rules about bars). If you want chili for breakfast, EAT chili for breakfast. There's nothing wrong with that.

I often have soup or chili for breakfast and oatmeal for dessert.

Now that you are registered call the 800 number on the home page and get yourself a free Health Advisor, mine is invaluable to me. Like Terri said take it one meal at a time and just keep coming here and reading and post as often as you need to.

We will help you along but you have to make the choice that you are worth this!

bamamomof5 ... Looks like everyone else has already given you great advice. Feel free to eat any of the MF products at any time of the day but limit yourself to one bar per day and add in the snacks if you need to. When I first started, I split my MF meals in half and had something every hour for the first two days to try to ease into the program. It was extra calories but it really helped me adjust to not eating regular food anymore. Do whatever you need to do to get compliant on the program and then the goal is a MF meal every 3 hours and 64 oz of water or more a day. We have all been where you are and can help you through this, so post and read. Then post and read some more!

Hi Bama! :D

Easter is in the past, and here you are, today, coming to this forum, looking for encouragement to continue with MF and you will get all the support you need here from all these absolutely wonderful women and men, who are no different from you or me, having the same weight struggles. On Medifast, you will lose weight, as you already know, being in the 10lb club. Please don't leave us, stay here and go for it, ask questions, ask more questions, get ideas of how others on the forum manage their meals, and eat every two hours on the 5-1 plan should you get hungry. Always save something for later at night, and look at some of the creative recipes for the MF foods that these creative members of the forum have come up with, they are amazing!! Best of luck to you, and it is so good that you reached out to the forum, we are all here to help you! ;)

THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I am so blessed to have happened upon this site today! I have done better today, I did have a bowl of cereal this morning before I first posted so it is not a "cheat-free" day. However, I didn't let that cheat do what they typicaly do and that is have me throw in the towel on the day and pig out on anything and everythingI could find. I have done good the rest of today and have my chicken ready to go for my 6pm meal. I have frozen some hot chocolate for dessert tonight and if this headache is what I think it is that means I am getting back on track. I can not thank ya'll enough and I am here for the long haul! My waterbottle has been close by my size and I WILL get all 2liters down today and then some! Tank you thank you thank you for all of the encouragement!
