I need something sweet!

Postby momof2 » May 13th, 2006, 2:04 pm

Hi All. I'm seriously craving something sweet today and I was wondering how bad it would be if I had 2 bars today (already had 1 this morning) or how about 1/2 of one instead of a shake? I've been bad for the past 2 weeks (on and off) and I said today I would get back on track and I mean it. I have only 3 weeks before my goal end date and I need to get rid of these last 5 lbs. What do you think? Any other suggestions?

Well

Of course it is your choice. :)

I would probably go with maybe some sugar free jello BUT, I also know that sometimes your wanting something sweet as in cookie sweet or muffin/cake sweet. Why not make some oatmeal into a muffin or cookies(recipes for that on the side of the boxes OR down in the lean and green forum here on the board)
Sometimes when I want something sweet, I will "Over-splenda-ize" an oatmeal, make it thicker then normal and douse with cinnamon as well.

Glass of crystal light might do the trick as well. Got any mf puddings? When I am having the Sweet cravings I basically ransack my brain for anything ON PLAN I can have that will satisfy that craving. So far it has worked.

I dunno, I feel for ya. If nothing will do you but a bar..and a bar you must have or your going to run screaming to the closest 7-11 for another kind of "bar" then by all means an extra mf bar is the best choice. lol The biggest problem with doing this will be the justification to do it again..then again on other days..and an extra bar more then once in a blue moon will impede your progress or completely stall it.

Hope that made some sense and something in that mess will help ya decide what to have.

 Hugs,
Gina

What Gina said!

Crystal Light is my sweet refuge. I recently got the pink lemonade flavor and I actually had to water it down more because it was toooo sweet! Try a nice tall glass of it with ice.

Also, I read somewhere that cravings only last 15 minutes. Wait it out and you'll feel better!

Do you have Medifast crackers? Give a few sprays of ICBINB, sprinkle with Splenda and cinnamon, and put under the broiler. YUM!! Just like crispas or crustos or whatever from Taco Bell/Time.

What everyone else said. It's your choice, but ... when I'm craving something sweet, I go for the Medifast pudding. Thick, sweet and kinda gooey if you don't use too much water.

Thanks All! I was thinking jello would be perfect, but I didn't have any made yet plus I wanted something to "chew". Think it was the evil donuts hubby bought this morning that triggered all this. I kept myself busy, drank a whole lot of water and the craving went away!

Lauraly, I read that too.. that a craving will go away after 15-20 mins so I guess that's true! Thank Goodness!

TooManyBooks, that sounds yummy.. I need to try that out.

You guys are the best. I've been compliant all day so I'm proud of myself. :D

Thanks Dogma. I have to give the credit to my 2 year old.. he was running amuck and in the middle of chasing after him I realized the craving was gone.

Go into the Lean Cuisine and look for the thread titled "Fudgey Drops". They are quick, easy, and definitely okay, since they are made with MF. It is your choice to make, but these end sweet cravings for me. The thing with the crackers is good too. Stay strong!!

those are pretty good. I was thinking of telling you that, but I couldn't remember what to call them!

Freeze 'em up and keep them on hand. Good for a meal when you are watching TV late at night and don't feel like sitting there with a shake. Ijust haev something to drink and them...
