Robinsons-May has a major, major sale going on right now, and I went there this morning. I came home with TWO cashmere sweaters, a suede skirt, a pair of tailored pants, and three other tops, AND a leather jacket -- soft, supple real leather. Get this, with the sale and the "thank you days" discount, I paid less than $170 TOTAL for these items. The original sales prices on the tags added up to nearly $900! The leather jacket alone was originally $268, and I got it for just under $40.
It's an XL, and it's a bit tight, but not for long. I should be able to wear it for quite awhile, I think, and then my friend who went shopping with me has already claimed "dibs" on it for when it's way too big for me.
Best of all, instead of size 3X these things are either L or XL, and the skirt and pants are 18W. A quick trip into Lane Bryant and I also scored an 18W bootcut pair of jeans and a black pair of pants for work in 16W.
I was sort of running out of things to wear to work. I have sorted through the closet and thrown out a bunch of stuff that was no longer usable, and taken bags to the church thrift store. I have two more large shopping bags filled to overflowing with stuff for the thrift store, and I have a couple of large boxes of clothes that I'm packing away right now and will give away in a year. Then there's a few good things that I'm going to try to sell on ebay, I think, especially a lovely brown suede jacket that's only a year and a half old.
Oh, this is fun!!
