Misty and I are making progress

Postby shirgall » June 15th, 2005, 8:23 pm

After 14 days of the 4+1/5+1 plan, being a tad grouchy, a tad hungry and not cheating except for the occasional pickle I am 12 pounds down and she is 15. The goal is still far away (and a linear projection points towards mid-July to late summer for us) so we have more controlled starving to go!

I plan to cheat for one dinner on Father's Day. I want my whiskey steak! :x

Whiskey Steak

Postby Jan » June 15th, 2005, 9:30 pm

Whiskey Steak huh??
That sounds delicious -- are you planning on eating just 5 - 7 oz??
Remember if you cheat you're going to have to go through the first three days of grouchy and some hunger all over again . Maybe it's worth it to you -- you decide.

Whiskey steak

Postby shirgall » June 16th, 2005, 7:00 am

I plan on limiting myself to salad and steak but I don't plan to limit it beyond that. I don't know what I'll go through, but I figure this is good practice for Independence Day where the family has a traditional BBQ with all the friends. It will be hard to be "good" that day too.

I have found it's a lot easier to be "good" at work than when I'm at home. I can force myself to an explicit schedule and limit my options dramatically there. I tend to lose more weight on days where it's only shakes, one bar, and one decent meal (6oz meat, 2 cups salad) than others where I have oatmeal, soup and don't hold myself to something every three hours.
