miss baggy pants! what a hoot!

well i am an official member of the elastic waistband crew. i think that contributed to my weight climbing up as far as it did! :x but i so love having the breathing room--my old jeans still cut off my circulation--it looks like im wearing a red belt when i take them off!!!! i refuse to give them up until i get into them.

i have to say that you should embrace your transitional self! give that girl the love she desearves. go to old navy and buy something cute for yourself! if it ends up fallin off in a month, let that be your reward. donate the clothes to your local battered womens shelter. i also know there are shops for women trying to get off welfare and into the job market, so why not buy a nice transitional dress that you know will eventually go to help someone else!

elastic waistbands are evil! they help you lie to yourself about gaining for sure, so from my experience, be cautious buying them

im happy you are miss baggy pants

I shopped Goodies on my way down, found GREAT things. I still shop there.

Wally World has great buys and that's a good place to go for underdoodies - I brought my very first leopard print bra at Wally World (It looks like a training bra compared to my former size 44DD breastplate) and my first NORMAL (size 7) string bikini underdoodies also came from Wally World!!!

Ditch the Bagaloons! Wear clothes that fit!

You'll be happy to know that today I am wearing a pair of capris that fit. And they fit quite nicely. They are 2 sizes smaller than when I started and I almost threw them out last year when I gave up on myself.

Boy, am I glad I didn't throw them out. I do look better in clothes that fit. My older sister is coming to visit in a couple of weeks and she loves to shop, so I think I will go with her and buy me some new stuff. OOOOOHHHHHH I can't wait.

Ok...in response to the cry for smaller shirts on me I have tucked my shirt into a pair of size 14 slacks and put on a BELT  WOW

I'm very self conscious about my shirt being tucked in and having this belt on. My waist is of course smaller, but my tummy buldging at the bottom is cause for dispair. HOWEVER, it is nice to have my shirt tucked in and EVERYONE at work noticed today and has been complimenting me all day :D

At least I'm giving it a try friends ;)

Christi~~ I am sooooo proud of you. I have just recently began tucking my shirt in, actually about a week now. Not everday mind you.... but you're right at least it is giving it a try.

I have always been self-conscious of my tummy too. I struggle with tucking in my shirt because I can still see the dreaded BULGE there. I turn this way and that while I look in the mirror deciding whether or not to tuck. When I look from the side I think YUCK, but when I look from the front it does look better than UNTUCKED.

I remember when I was a teenager and I went with my mom to one of here WW meetings (she was a WW leader). I saw so many overweight women and remember thinking "I will never allow my stomach to look like that." :nonono: In college my friends were all jealous at how taut my stomach was and I didn't ever exercise much then. And then it happened...........I got married at 21.......had my 1st c-section at 22.........and seemed to have lost my metabolism and gained the dreaded BULGE.......the same one I swore I would never get. But I didn't stop there........I just kept on gaining. :dooh:

I often wonder "WHAT WAS I THINKING?" :dunno: Why did I allow it to go on for so long? Look at all the things I have missed out on because I would rather eat than do anything else.

Well...........not any more.......I am going to be thin and happy instead of FAT and mostly happy. ;)

Boy.....where did all that come from? Sorry I rambled, I was actually just going to say Congratulations Christi on tucking in your shirt. :cleader:

Hey Donica..........are you sure you weren't talking about me?? I was married at 20, first c-section at 23, fold over started and grew into the BIG FAT BELLY MONSTER it is today! Second c-section was last March (12 years later 8) ) I've said before on this forum that I too would look at people who had their stomach sitting on their laps and think "didn't you see that coming?" Well now I do. Yes of course I saw it coming. But I didn't want to stop having all the instant gratification of the food I was eating. Mumbo Jumbo we have all the "reasons" ie. excuses in the world for WHY or HOW this happened. But it just SUCKS! (am I allowed to say that?)

I've missed out on teaching my first son to swim and to water ski. I avoided out door things at all costs and now I've raised an indoor kid who just wants to be in front of the video games :? But now I have another baby who I SWEAR I will not do the same thing to. And of course my 12 year old isn't to old to benefit from a healthy and active Mom now :D

And ya know what? Kids are cruel!! He is getting into the teenage years and I don't want him to have to protect or defend his fat mother from the other kids saying things about me. Anyway...I guess we've deviated from the BAGGY PANTS discussion (but don't we always?) hehe

Bottom line.........no more baggy pants........no more baggy bellies :-P

I just love you guys!!

 Here's to continued shirt tuckage!

Have you noticed how many young girls and women wear low rise pants and short shirts and they shouldn't be?

 Have you noticed how many young men wear baggaloon pants and shirts down to their mid thighs?

Once we begin on our trek to improve our health and make over our bods, we become very :x self-critical - enjoy every day -

you are thinner today than yesterday and not as thin as you will be tomorrow.

This may be the last week you'll wear those capris, Donica or the last week you'll wear that belt, Christi. ;) The Belly Monster is takin' a trip and we're all traveling in the opposite direction to Thinsville! :burnout:

Congratulations, all you shirt tuckers!
You are all braver than I am !
This week I did wear a shirt that just went over the waist band, does that count? It even had buttons (and NO diamond effect)! At least it was not down around my hips or butt like where I have worn a lot of my shirts!

Weigh to go!

I used to wear dresses that billowed - compared to what I wear now, I couldda parasailed if the wind kicked up. :boing:

Enjoy your thinning selves, People!
