Messed up but found new motivation

Postby stelar » February 27th, 2006, 3:38 pm

:D Our youngest was here this last week. We took her back to her Mom's on Saturday ... boy oh boy did I blow it. McDonalds, Pizza Hut & Cinnabon all just this weekend ... :aarggh: But, I found a whole new perspective on my weightloss! :scratchhead: I started to do what I've always done ... making excuses for why I'm not losing as fast as others, this isn't working for me, need to try a different diet :dooh: NO THAT'S NOT RIGHT!! I CAN LOSE WEIGHT, I AM LOSING WEIGHT, THIS IS AN AWESOME DIET & IT WORKS FOR ME! It's ME, I've always chosen to cheat on my diets but this time I'm not going to do it! I messed up this weekend & today I'm starting over but that's okay because I've CHOSEN to succeed. I will be healthy for my birthday!

I went to the My Medifast website & started reading the success stories to get myself motivated again. I came across this Success Tip:
1. Package several days worth of meals (5 per day). Then each morning simply grab a stack and there’s your day's food. A surprise each day and you break the habit of thinking about “what to eat” throughout the day. It’s all set for you.

2. Be generous with flavorings and spices and add diet drinks to shakes for variety.

3. When you start, advise friends and family that you’ll be missing meal get-togethers, but will join them afterwards. Take a hiatus, it’s easier.

4. Exercise as you go. The muscle tone will look great as the weight comes off.

5. Use lots of lotion and oils; pamper yourself. Your skin needs to make adjustments too.

6. Keep busy. I got involved with lots of hobbies like knitting, cross-stitching and quilting. It really helps to keep your hands busy.

Good job, Stelar! It's not really a mistake if you learn from it; think of it as one of many lessons you'll learn on the way to thinness. As for being a slow loser, from another "turtle": Losing slowly is definitely better than not losing at all. You'll still get there in the end, and you'll be just as happy as the fast losers (maybe more so because you had to struggle more to do it).

Glad to have you back on track!!

 Y'all are great! I'm pretty excited, I've already dropped 1.5 lbs of the 2 lbs I gained! And my sweetheart has been amazing. He didn't give me a hard time about blowing it this weekend either he just encouraged me to get back on the bandwagon. He reminded me of how much better I'm looking & feeling. Then he made a deal with me that I KNOW he will never keep :? he said when I get down to my goal I can buy a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes :roflmao: he's just so darn cute. I think I'll settle for a new wardrobe probably for the price of 1 pair of Jimmy Choo's. He's clueless at $ when it comes to women's clothes. I love him bunches.

Thx!

Stela ~

It sounds like your weekend was a lot of :boing: fun with your youngest daughter and it is so important to spend time with our children. It can mean that we have to be creative if we are to avoid some of those popular foody places. I can't throw :tomato: about Cinnabon...that is like a :lightbeam: serious threat for me, too. One way I compensate for it is I buy their wonderful cinnamon and use it in my Medifast Oatmeal and in my Chai Latte!

It takes a lot of self-talk to walk thru the malls and to avoid returning to our former eating habits. Those personal realizations help us to reach our goals. You have already proven to yourself that you are on your way - your 1.5 pounds closer!

Your husband sure is a  special guy! Did you get that promise in writing? My niece is a clothing buyer and a shoe fanatic and even SHE doesn't own a pair of JC shoes!

You will look beautiful in them, Stela!

Wait a sec, is their cinnamon different from the regular stuff? Have I been missing out?

Yeah - it is REALLY Good!

Like really, really, REALLY good!

They sell it at the Cinnabon shop - wear dark glasses so you can't see them cinnamon buns too clearly, put Vick's Vapo Rub under your nose so you can't smell them cinnamon buns too well, put in your night guard so you can't even sneak a lick of them cinnamon buns and walk straight past them cinnamon buns in the case and look the cashier in the eye and ask for "1 bottle of cimmamun spice, please" and then run away like mad and get outta the mall ASAP. :runner:

You'll  love it!

Cinnabon's cinnamon is called Makara Cinnamon :bib: OMG! It is so good. But, I've now learned that I can't go near their stand before I break out in a junk food sweat :? I'll have to have my hubby go buy it while I stand in front of a shoe store :?

And Nancy, he's clueless ... I probably will never own a pair of Jimmy Choo's ... I'm okay with knock offs that cost $30  And my sweetheart has no clue about the price of designer anything unless it's a designer called Toyota :drive:

Hmmm, thanks for the tip. I'll have to check it out.

I actually don't like Cinnabon, so I'm safe going there. Too sweet and gooey for me, so they always smell better than they taste.

DogMa Hunny, in my formerly flabby days there was nothing that was too sweet or too gooey for me!

NOTHING.

I ate two or three cinnabons at one sitting. Pass the Pepcid, Please!

:secret: Last year I was flying home from Baltimore and there was a layover in Denver. It was late at night, I hadn't eaten for much too long and there was a Cinnabon Stand...I purchased one. Ate half of it and OD'd so much on the sweet and gooey Cinnabon that I tossed the rest out. The last leg of my flight was sort of rough.. :puke:

Stela ~

Maybe there is a MakeMeThinner Forum Reader out there that has some Jimmy Choo Shoes she no longer wants and will pass them on to you - that would be

:wavie: Dear Rich and Generous MMT Forum Person, I want the Leopard Halter Sandal in a size 11 or 12, please. Send Stela a stunning bejeweled number as well...

:hmmm: Those dang shoes are TALL. I am already taller than Terry, if I wore Jimmy's heels, Terry would never be able to reach me for hiney pinches!
