Hey MARY, been looking and looking for you. It's great that you are doing so good on maintenance, but I gotta know....
How's come we weigh about the same but you can wear a size 4, and a size 8 feels good on me. How tall are you? Could that be it? Anyway, 'taint fair, McGee!
I am so sorry about your mom and I know you want to see her all you can. Prayers to her and you.
Hope you can check in ever so often, cause you wouldn't want us to spend time worrying about you and how you are doing, now would you?
Also it is inspiring to us all. That ten months will pass like a flash and the one year medallion will belong to you. Yep, we'll have to devise another one then...but no biggee.

Actually, Lizabette, I thought we were the same height--I'm 5'2" (3" taller in heels ;) ). And you? I have an increasing number of size 4's so I see myself moving more concretely in that direction but I am still comfortable in a size 6. I buy a lot of petite's, perhaps that's the difference between us? My size 8's are definitely all too large though. Obviously we carry our weight differently--in one sense it may not be "fair" but it is what it is, ya know? :?

My head is starting to catch up with my accurate size so when I shop I'm getting closer to looking at something and judging if it will fit. One thing I realized is that since I wore my clothes "roomy" when I was large I sometimes still see that as a norm ... sales associates are often telling me, "That's too big ... you need a smaller size!" :) God bless them!

Thanks for your prayers. I appreciate it! :rose:

I am 5'7" and weigh about what you two weigh and wear a 10 I believe! Now that's not fair!

Wow, MARY, I am 5'1", so not far off. You wear 3" heels!!!! I quit that a couple decades ago...
I have a couple sixes that I can wear, but 8's are better and people say I look skinny.
However, today at the doctor's office I saw a lady who was skinny, skinny. She didn't look healthy.
Looks like I'll just have to accept the inevitable.
So glad you're back...

Well look at you, Biki 8) -- you made Goal! Congrats! :D And only 1# until you earn your gold star! Good for you. It took you a little longer than you initially hoped, but I'm sure you are delighted just the same.

I wouldn't sweat being a size 10 if I were you though. My body has continued to "shrink" since I made goal two + months ago and I would suspect that's common.

Hmmm ... just noticed I'm, 1/2# away from a new club and I'm not even trying to lose anymore!

Yeah, I gave up on wearing heels a while back too. They were soooooo uncomfortable with my arthritis and all the extra weight I was carrying. <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_3.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D4%252F4_13_3/image.gif">Now I can wear them again in total comfort and my walk is graceful (rather than hobbled). :D

I agree, there IS such a thing of being too skinny. (I've dealt with anorexic teens and it's very sad to see. ) However, as you know, TSFL advocates the BE SLIM philosophy--a HEALTHY body and a HEALTHY lifestyle! Another reason why I chose MF over other programs! :cheermed:

Chynna, you are so sweet to think of me. I am in Chicago visiting with Mom. She's been in a nursing home for a week now...we are all on an emotional roller coaster it seems. Some days are better than others but none of them have been "great." My brother and I only want what's best for her but she does not understand ... and with her dementia it is very frustrating.

I'll be back home for Christmas and will have my daughters, son-in-law and grandson over for Christmas Eve dinner and Midnight Mass. The holidays have been very stressful this year--trouble on both home fronts--but the grace of God has been overflowing.

Thank you for your prayers ... I'm hoping you and your sweet daughter are doing better. This is such a difficult time of year for so many people and I often think of you and yours. Be assured of my continued prayerful support. God is good and provides all that we need.

Merry Christmas my friend!

Well, i had to check...seems like your journal hasn't been active, but you are all over the place. Thought you needed a little BUMP!! On a serious note, how IS maintenance treating you? 6.5# below goal, are you still trying to lose more? We see so many stating that it is a battle at times, fighting their various urges... how are you faring?

Hi Erica!
What a surprise to see my journal bumped up
I was beginning to think <sob> no one <sob> cared <sob> about me <sob sob> boohoo boohoo <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_38.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D36%252F36_1_38/image.gif">

I am still maintaining between 128-130# I indulged a bit over the holidays and with the stress of my last trip to Chicago (to care for my Mom) but the indulgence was short-lived--perhaps my Catholic training (penance, flagellation, kneeling on rice) had something to do with its brevity! LOL  So I don't necessarily "fight" urges. I try to satisfy my tastes but in moderation. What helps is that I still eat 6X a day and use MF products at least 3 times to keep my daily calorie level low.

When I was in the weightloss phase I was somewhat concerned about maintenance--scared, in fact. But now I take it in stride. My big trigger is not so much the food I desire (and occasionally eat) as it is the emotions that cause the desire in the first place! Does that make sense?

see? see? I try to be serious and you guys just gotta take me there! :roflmao:<br><br>but i must say that yes, your response made complete sense. The thought of maintenance sometimes scares me but more for the food urges than the emotional thing. I have found a comfort zone in controlling the emotional eating this time around. I think that is what has helped keep me on plan. What scares me is, once i start adding in the "white stuff" (bread, pasta =weakness) will that trigger binges? That is my fear. I don't think it's feasible to think that i will stay away from it forever, i just have to learn control, kinda like robin with the toast/pb/choc chips. She seems to be a "one and done" kinda gal. THAT'S what i have to learn. One and done, One and done. I do have to say that over the holidays, the ability to maintain my control has given me a bright outlook towards maintenance, so i know IT CAN BE DONE (after one) !
