My Medifast Tip of the Day

Postby Amber » February 27th, 2008, 8:48 am

Mornin' All~
Having some late-winter motivational issues, I found today's tip to be particulaly fitting. Thought I'd share...

February 27, 2008

Re-Evaluating Your Motivation

What is your motivation for losing weight? Are you driven by a strong desire to be healthy, have more energy or wear that new outfit you’ve been eyeing? Whatever your motivation, be weary of judging your success based solely on the readout from your scale. Fixating on a specific “number” that we want the scale to say can cause us to lose sight of the overall lifestyle, health and behavioral improvements we have achieved. Do you have more energy? Are your clothes feeling looser? Do you have a renewed sense of self-confidence? Have you lowered your blood pressure, lipid levels or blood sugar readings? Has your physician been able to decrease your need for certain medications. These are ALL measures of success, so be sure to revel in each and every one of them!

Happy Wednesday!
Amber

Was that really a direct quote or did you type it in? Did they really say "be weary of ..."? If so, they need to hire an editor. Geez.

Haha, Rob ~ I caught that too...
I suppose one could grow weary of that doggone scale,
I know I certainly have at times!

I try not to comment on mistakes in posts, though (or I'd drive myself, and everyone else, crazy). But something official like that is another matter.

Thank you for sharing this because health is not just a number that reads out on the scale!
