Medifast Legal Brownie Recipe

I know what you mean about an 'expensive' batch of brownies...but if they are tasty, they will be a lot less costly calorically and program-wise to our waistlines than the regular Betty Croaker Brownies!

When I make the Medifast pudding or the Medifast Legal Oatmeal cookies, I initially use less water than the recipe calls for and then add a small amount more if the batter seems too dry - that way, I don't end up with something too runny. I can always add a drip drop more at a time but it is pretty difficult to subtract water once I've souped it up! For some reason adding little bitsies of chopped up sponge to the cookie batter to absorb excess water is not at all tasty! ;)

Cool! Now if I could just convince myself that I wouldn't eat the whole batch ...

I think I am going to finally make these this weekend. Hopefully they will be good.

I'm not a big "sweet" fan, but I like the idea of having an extra "solid" meal in the day. The bars are nice once a day, but I only enjoy the oatmeal every once in a while.

Since I am a horrible cook, can someone give me an estimate about how much water they used? I would like to have a good starting point at least.

I mixed the dry and put in small bags added the tiny oil and a small amount of water made two servings at a time it takes longer but it keeps me honest :D

I have to have portable foods on the days I go to work b/c I work twelve hours shifts with usually no breaks. These smell wonderful while they're baking but they did not even remotely taste like brownies so everyone who thinks they'll be tempted ... don't worry :-)

However, they worked out wonderful for me to just have something to grab and quickly eat. They tasted a little bland to me so on the next batch I'm going to try adding some chocolate syrup and I'm also going to try a half batch. I made the full batch in an 8x8 pan and had to bake them a full hour.

Ascicles ... I didn't pre-measure the water. I added all the dry ingredients and mixed well. Then I added the oil and just poured water in and stirred. I kept adding water until it just looked right. I would guess-timate that it was a least a cup or two, though. Give it a try for yourself. These are very convenient to have on hand.

Oh, dear. If they smell like brownies but then don't taste like them, I might be in MORE trouble.

At least when I bake real brownies, I can take 'em to work and get rid of the temptation.

Well, I tried to make these the other night and I absolutely destroyed them. They completely fell apart on me.

I couldn't figure out the correct amount of water, and I think I ended up using too much in the end.

Eventually, I just tossed chunks of them into baggies, because I'm not going to waste eight packets of food. I've eaten them twice and I can live with the taste...barely.

I did try the muffin recipe, and while I couldn't get them to rise properly, the taste was great. I think I'll make them quite a bit in the future (I only have two packs of oatmeal left...but I'll order more in about a month).

ascicles ... I've made these brownies so many times that I've got it down to a fine art. I'll find my handwritten notes and post my recipe in the hopes that you'll enjoy your next batch.

Ascicles, here is my version of the brownie recipe:

4 pckts oatmeal
3 pckts choc shake
1 pckt choc pudding
3 Tbsp Enova Oil
4 "pumps" of SF Syrup
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
16.9 oz water

I just use one of my water bottles from the store which is why it's 16.9 oz. The Enova Oil is a new type of oil recommended by the American Dietetic Association b/c it is a different type of fat molecule so your body stores less fat than traditional oils; however, canola is just fine. I used the 4 pumps of chocolate syrup from Davinci instead of the splenda pckts and I like it better. I bake this in an 8x8 pyrex glass pan for one hour at 350 degrees. Comes out perfect every time.
