Medifast for Diabetic's

Postby cdixon » May 6th, 2004, 9:24 am

Hopefully my first set of supplies will get here soon!

Anyone else doing the Medifast for Diabetics? And if so, is anyone doing the full fast? I read that Medifast doesn't recommend the full fast for Diabetics but I was also wondering why? Does anyone know?

Hope to here from you

I'm type II, but I'm not doing the full fast, because I just want some solid food.

I have a little bit of a hard time with my sugar going to low if I don't eat something. I'm on 3 diabetic medications.

It sounds like you are just starting. The first 3 days were tough. I drank a lot of hot tea, hot bouillion, and ice cold water with Metamucil (Yes, I really like it, if the water is ice cold and I put twice the amount of water in, it taste like orange popcycles.) Besides, you really need the metamucil to keep from getting constipated.

I don't know why they say not to do the full fast.

The one big plus is that my sugar level seems to stay fairly constant for longer periods and I have a lot more energy. On the fourth day, I woke up with a lot of energy and for the most part it has stayed with me.

Good Luck
