magical power of soy crisps

Postby Allie » August 4th, 2006, 12:40 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm on day 6 today, and have really not had any cravings for anything up to this point, but this morning was another story. I stayed at my boyfriend's house last night, and when I came home this morning, my room mate and her boyfriend were still here. Even worse, they were cooking eggs benedict (one of my biggest weaknesses). I wanted one so bad. I managed to make my oatmeal, and then went to my room to do homework, but my roommate, knowing me, brought me a plate of her breakfast.

While I sat there looking at it, I though that one little bite wouldn't hurt, but I also knew that if I did that, I wouldn't stop at one bite. I dumped the plate in the trash, but still wanted it. Thank goodness for the soy crisps. I got them out and had a nice salty and approved snack, and no longer wanted the eggs benedict!!!

good job Allie! It is hard to pass up some of our favorite foods (and even ones that we dislike but happen to be around in some cases!)

The soy crisps are a nice snack. I don't eat them often, but when I do I always have to get every last drop of flavor out of the bag.

Good for you! Those moments are triumphant! I am a "savory" lover; (approved, small amounts of) all things salty are our friends!

My roommate watched me do that one night and he was like, "what's wrong with you?"

Well... if you had this tiny bag of soy crisps instead of that big ole bag of chips you might try to lick the bag too!

Guilty. The crumbs are the best part!

Can't say I lick the bag, but I do turn it over so the crumbs fall into my hand and then I get as much of the salts as I can.
As for your roommate, just remind her that you feel so great on this program and that in the future don't tempt you. The worst thing for me is having someone put food in front of me that I really want and then leaving me alone with it.

I do it, too. But exactly. It's not like we have a giant bag of 'em.

Of course, I also hate having pudding at work because I can't lick the lid.

Hmmmm,
We need to form the secret society of " soy crisp and pudding lickers". I have been guilty of it too. Of course when I had ice cream all by myself at home in the olden days ... yup I licked the bowl. Fortunately I have never done that in public. Keep going you're doing fine.

My roommate is a guy :) Honestly he's not that bad at tempting me. He's usually the opposite and trying to keep me on track if I'm crazed.

And Robin.. I totally lick the lid at work!! I don't care :)

Thanks Guys!!! You are all so supportive. I tried to get all of the crums out. I don't lick the pudding lid , but my favorite way to make it is with half the water it needs, and 3 icecubes in my MB. It tastes just like the frosty form windy's.

Way to go!! You handled it beautifully!

It's been hard, but easier than I thought to avoid temptations this first week. I bought DH & the boys beloved Planet Smoothie smoothies today - I did just fine without mine, although they are the BEST!!

OK, Sarya, you inspired me. I'm at work and I just kinda waited till no one was looking and licked the lid of my pudding container. Mmmmmm.
