Low thyroid and Medifast

Postby sharon1025 » August 19th, 2007, 11:08 am

I was wondering if there were any other people using medifast that are also taking Synthroid for a low thyroid condition. Does the program work for you and also how does the soy interact with your medication? I was hoping that there were some success stories because it can be frustrating and so hard to lose weight with a thyroid condition. I spoke with Nancy and she was really helpful, I also wanted to see what everyone else thought and experienced. Thanks for your input.

HI sharon.
Absolutely, I have a low thyroid, I used to be on synthroid, but now I am on levoxyll. (same thing) This week alone i have lost 5.6#. My endincrinolgist, who test my thyroid was very happy to see my results. This program is the best. You can do it. :D

I am on synthroid and have lost over 80 pounds. I just had blood work done on 8/7 and my readings were fine.

I started my thyroid adventure about 9 months before starting MF - I've done just fine and we've been adjusting my dosage this whole time trying to get it right and stable, and my doctor has known about the MF and was supportive. I haven't worried about the soy in the products and my bloodwork always comes back fine - I've been steady on the same dosage now for about 4-5 months I think, and I do reasonably well taking my pill but I always have a shake pretty much right after - and no problems so far.
