Low carb tortillas?????

Postby Slimmin' » September 13th, 2007, 12:29 pm

Does anyone have any scoop on whether low carb tortillas (or like the veggie/spinach ones) are legal? It would be nice to wrap my chicken up in something other than a lettuce leaf once in a while.

Basically if it can't be substituted for your lean or your green, its not okay.
Although some types of low carb tortillas have more protein, its not enough to be considered lean as the carb ratio is still higher than needed.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I like to do this..

I use the recipe for the broccoli soup crackers, sometimes substituting cream of chik instead.. spread the batter thin on parchment paper on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 for a few mins.. it makes a chewy bread sort of thing, similar to those tortillas they have at the market.

I use it to wrap up chopped celery with just a drop of dijon and grain mustard.

I have done that too and used a little salsa, turkey pepperoni, and low fat cheese to make a "pizza". It is pretty good and really helps out on those Domino's and a movie night that my guys have occasionally.
