I am so happy! But I am so so hungry! The second day is worse than the first!

Awesome! Congratulations!

Yes, the first three days can be difficult, but it WILL get better, I promise. Hang in there, you're doing great!

I found the first week the worse. After that it got easier. socializing is hard, as I'm not telling people. Friends put out popcorn and pretzels and tell me it is weight watchers friendly, yes it maybe but i'm not on WEIGHT WATCHERS!!!!

Be sure to have some bouillon as I had a terrible first week and realized my body was dehydrating terribly. Almost landed me in the hospital! But it does get better!

Lots and Lots of water!

......and remember if you fudge a little in those first few days, you can linger just on the edge of the proper amount of ketosis, and your hunger will not go away.

I'm not accusing you any way, just bringing it to your attention. Once you settle into the plan, you'll find your hunger will disappear. In fact, many people find they're hardly hungry enough to get in all their meals....

Isn't that the truth?!! I had soooo much trouble with this all last week. In fact, I hate to admit it but I shorted myself a MediMeal on Fri, Sat and Sun. I'm feeling fine, but for sure not going to let that happen again. Going to get a watch with a timer to remind me I guess.

...........and too little calories (4-5 medimeals/day) can actually slow your weight loss, as your body gets shocked into starvation and fights to hang onto that stored fat for survival.

Some people have actually seen faster weight loss by upping their intake to 7-8 meals a day for a while. A constant supply of balanced, healthy, portion controlled meals and nutrients makes a happy body that can melt the lbs away. It also strengthens the body and helps protect the body from disease and illness. These are hidden "side effects" (benefits) that you should think about, during those times when the scale isn't moving as fast as you'd like....:)

confused about # of MFs per day

Postby LAwoman » March 14th, 2005, 8:55 pm

I thought the 5:1 plan called for 4 OR 5 MF and a lean and green.
I thought the complete plan called for 5 OR 6 MF each day.

I usually consume about 5 MF each day, occasionally 6 if I'm hungry or have time. Most days I throw in a bouillon cube with my soup, eat two pickles, and (egads) use a splash of REAL cream in my coffee each morning. But I've rarely been hungry on MF.

Since 3/1/05 I've lost 12 lbs. But of course, what woman would resist if there's a faster/better way for MF to work for me, you know I'm all over that.

It's weird, for the first time in my almost 40 years of life I'm not hungry and consumed by the thought of food. I hope this lasts, 'cause it sure saves time and energy for so much more in life.

Thanks!

The 5-1 is "5" medimeals and 1 lean/green (regular food).

The full fast (complete) program is 6 medimeals and should be monitored by your physician.

Thanks Unca Tim, you have a wonderful perspective on MF nutrition. I can relate so well.
A constant supply of balanced, healthy, portion controlled meals and nutrients makes a happy body that can melt the lbs away.

in those first few days, you can linger just on the edge of the proper amount of ketosis, and your hunger will not go away.
