That is so wonderful that your hubby is able to join you for exercising already. I agree with Tawanda - a true testimony to having a fit body. Keep you the good work Lizabette.

JULY 4, 2007 - 131.7# :?

Had to come back today or get pushed into oblivion on the Journal list!
Also, I did a two-mile in-home tape and I wanted to brag a little about that.
'Specting company for burgers in a little while so can't stay.
I'll have a burger L & G with 2 slices Ezekiel bread, Angus burger, and all the veggies I want.
Ezekiel bread, in case you're not aware, is made of sprouted stuff and no flour. Tastes as good as whole wheat bread to me.
Otherwise, I'm serving cole slaw, baked beans, blackberry cobbler with ice cream.
Don't get excited. Even on maintenance one has to take care what one eats!!!
So ya'll watch yourself.
All for now...

Happy 4th Lizabette,
Are you talking people on boat rides around the lake?

The berry cobbler sounds yum. Today there is a raspberry festival down the road from us. I adore raspberries and cherries. But I will not eat or pick any this summer. Im going to buy flats and freeze them for the winter. But I do miss picking both of these fruits as I eat many more than I pick

Have a great evening.

Hi Lizabette! I'm trying to catch up on reading journals and I see that your DH has been ill, but how wonderful that he has rebounded so well! God is good!

On Sunday night my husband had a blueberry tarte with a scoop of blueberry ice cream at a restaurant we went to. I think I did what the doctors call "disassociating."

HB, I hope I didn't leave the impression that I ATE the berry cobbler. I just served it to my company.
Actually, I sent most of it home with them, so not to have it in the house.
However, I did indulge in watermelon, prolly too much watermelon.
But nothing seemed to affect the scale too much this morning.
Those raspberries sound scrumptious, HOL, and if anybody gets them, I think I should be the one. (Sorry, ROBIN!)
I eat dried cranberries almost every morning in my oatmeal. Talk about YUMMY! (Remember, maintenance!)
I never used the word 'disassociating', BIKI, but I think that's what I do too!
Hey MARY, I have been thinking about you, and read some of your journal but somehow didn't stop long enough to post on it.
I hope everything is going well with you. Thanks for stopping by here.

My morning was spent at the SW class, walking tape and light weights and stretching.
Then my friend and I stopped by MCDonald's for their senior coffee, $.50 a cup (best bargain in town!) and had a bar with P/B.
Then we haunted our fav consignment shops.
She found some nice stuff, but I came home empty handed.
Seems like I have most everything I need right now, without replacing stuff I already have in my too-full closets.
I don't dare gain weight now after getting rid of all my 'fat' clothes. Oh, my, whatever would I do....?

DH is doing wonderfully, and we plan to go to the Y tomorrow to walk the track. It's cooler there, as the doctor recommends.
It's been less than a week since he was hospitalized for the heart artery stent procedure. Amazing! PTL!
Take care, all.

Oh, Liz, I've been a horrible forum friend to you! I haven't been around as much and totally missed that your hubby had the angioplasty! My apologies for such a late post, but I am thrilled to hear his recovery has been so rapid and successful! It's amazing how much a part our fitness plays in recovery time, he (and you) must be so thankful that you've both been so active!

I am happy to hear your spirits are up, as always, and I hope you had a fantastic 4th of July! Oh, and I totally indulged in watermelon and cherries too - fortunately the fruit didn't hurt the scale for me either! Must be all that exercising! :-)

XOXO

JULY 6, 2007 - 132.7# 8)

Sometimes I wonder what I did before Medifast and starting to exercise regularly. (5-6 days week)
It does take up much of the morning hours, and then other chores and activities take up the rest of the day.
Getting a little forum posting in is also part of the agenda.
Well, today after DH and I, and another couple did the Y scene...walking the track, my shopping pal and I went you-know-where,
and I came home with some cool bargains...whoohoo!
We have some of the neatest shops and malls here in Hot Springs.
Then I gave my closet the eagle eye to see what I could replace... it won't be easy.

TEE, always glad when you show up. I need someone who will keep a check on me. I got you, babe!

Say, LAUREN. nice of you to visit my journal. Please, you will always be my forum friend.
I was just thinking recently, where else could anybody have such caring and understanding friends than on this forum?
Well, I know that my exercise regimen no where near equals yours, but for me it works in keeping me somewhat fit and definitely healthier.
Today, I bought heavier ankle weights (20#, 10# each leg) for my weight training class, 'cause teacher said I needed to up my weights, gradually.
(I've been doing the 5# each leg.) Nobody said this was going to be easy.
She is using the 'skinny stick' on us. :whip:
Hubby is still doing well, obeying the doctor's orders, but nearly back to his usual honery self!
Appreciate your stopping by.

JUNE 7, 2007 - 132.3# 8)

Not much to report today, I'm afraid.
I did a two-mile inhome walking tape this morning.
We're having company in a little while for burgers and the fixin's.
May get to check back in later...
And at least, see ya at Roll Call tomorrow.

Itsy ~

20 pound ankle weights? Wow! You're gonna have some major calves and thighs! I use 5# on my ankles and that's about it!

I know what you mean about the time thingy with exercising - it feels good to do it, the effects are great but it does take time to do so and since my joints are shot, I cannot speed things up and run the streets like Lauren but we make pretty good time with our walks, don't we?

Give my best to Bill; very happy to hear he has lotsa spring in his step and is accompanying you on your jaunts thru the park and at the Y.

Take care, our thinny Friend!

Hi, LW, Thanks for stopping by.
Yeah, I got the 20 pound weights and could hardly carry them into the house.
(DH is not allowed to lift anything that heavy yet!)
I have a little luggage cart that I load the weights in to move them around easier.
I'll work with about 6 pounds on each leg and work up to 10#. But not overnight!
Also, I've found that during the kind of weather we've been having that I enjoy the in-home walking better than outdoors... it goes faster!
And the Y is air conditioned also.
Time consuming, yes, but I feel that it is so necessary for my health and fitness to do something most every day!
I never dreamed before Medifast that I would be doing this!
Bill is doing great, NANCY! I appreciate your interest so much.
