Hi Lizabette - glad to hear that things are going so well for you. You are such an inspiration. Everytime I read your journal - I too think of the ducks. I also think about how much fun you are probably having on your pontoon boat. I hope you are enjoying your summer.

JUNE 18, 2007 - 132.1#
Yesterday was my so called 'free food day' and no exercise. Being better today.
Did a 1-1/2 mile walk at the Y today.

Thanks so much, SUE!
Well, yeah, we would be having fun on the pontoon, if we just took the time to do it.
It's certainly not the ducks keeping us from it this time...
Appreciate you thinking about us, tho. How nice of you.
You are doing really well, SUE.
WTG!

JUNE 19, 2007 - 131.1# 8)

ZOWIE! What a workout today. At my T & TH weight training session.
We first did a mile and a half walking tape, part of the time using weights, then we did more arm and leg weight moves and I upped my weights on most of them.
About an hour and a-half total.
Following that was my neighborhood Birthday Club luncheon.
I promise I didn't use my exercise as an excuse to eat, eat, eat.
I had a big grilled chicken salad and it was so filling. Forget the bread.
Home now and I may take a power nap on my Chi Machine. It actually rocks me to sleep.

Well, I am tentatively excited about the Maintenance Support Call tomorrow.
Our fearless leader and leopardess queen, Nancy, has invited me to be the guest for this month.
I wish I could talk as easily as I can write... but I just want to be a help in someway, If I can.
It will be nice to know that some of my Medibuddies are there cheering me on, and maybe getting even'with me for using my "skinny stick" occasionally.
Be easy on me, y'all.
Anyway, if you're interested, here is Nancy's post from this morning:

Now off to take that little nappy...

Lizabette, I'm going to try to check in during your call. All depends on if the babies have gone home by then or not. It is usually my busiest time with them, though. I bet the call and your sharing will be great!

Lizabette-
You will do splendidly on that call...just be yourself!

Now, about that Chi machine...have you found it to be beneficial? I seriously considered buying one and hesitated long enough to talk myself out of the expenditure. I used one briefly at Curves, but I have never known anyone who owns one. Would you recommend it?

Thanks for any advice you might share.

Thank you, TEE. I knew that if you could, you would try to check in.
But if not, maybe you can playback the recorded call, which is how I usually do.
I know you will be at Maintenance before long and I am so proud of you.

JANAE, so glad to hear from you. Thank you.
I really hope that I can say things that will motivate our listeners.
About the Chi machine. I used it the first time at Curves also.
I've had mine four years or so and use it several times a week.
I believe it is beneficial to me, although it is not easy to measure that.
The literature spells out many benefits.
My main thing is to use it for relaxation and then trust that it does help me in all the other ways.
It takes up a small space in my master bedroom and convenient to use.
So that is basically all I can say about it. I would really miss it if I didn't have it.

It looks like you are doing well, JANAE, with 20 pounds gone. What is your goal?
Uh, oh, I can't see your picture on your avatar, sweetie. :whip:

Hi Lizabette,

I go to Curves, but I've never seen a Chi machine. What is it?

Thanks!

QUEENIE,
Anybody ever tell you that you have a very sweet avatar? You do!
The Chi machine is not necessarily part of the Curves equipment.
Just happens that mine did.
QUEENIE, I am going to PM you with a web site that explains what it is.
Thanks for checking in on my journal.

.

Lizabette-
Thank you for the info about the Chi machine. And for your words about me. Actually, I have lost a bit more, but not without struggle and not on the full MF program.
I took off my signature, ticker and avatar when I had to stop doing the program fully and just got discouraged. Since starting MF last year, I have had three surgeries as well as spent 4 out of the past 9 months away from home for my job (not my usual routine).

Consequently, I have not done anything very consistently. I am doing my own modified version of MF- something like the diabetic plan with some supplements and additional, limited food of other types. All the while, staying within my doctors' recommendations for me, considering some health issues I have.

I have continued to read this forum and though I am normally silent, I feel like I know everyone hereas friends! Thanks for being an encouragement - even to those of us who, for various reasons, do not regularly write.

Thank you, especially, Lizabette for your example and encouragement. You are certainly loved by all.

Hi Lizabette - what time is the phone call and where do you dial in? I have a conference call tonight for work but if I can listen to the recorded show - that too would be great. Thanks!!
