Mary, that picture reminds me of a friend in Dallas who would order so much food at Taco Bell that she asked for two sodas because she didn't want them knowing it was all for her.

MAY 31, 2007 - 131.3 - Strong Women today!

Thanks, SUE. Well, really I called it my maintenance tacos to differentiate from the regular MF plan.
Didn't want to confuse anyone on program.
I just fix tacos as low fat (beef or chicken)and low calorie as possible. I use 1 large shell or two small for my grains. Lots of salad.
I used to make a taco salad with my allowed meat when on plan about the same way, except no chips. Good!

Thanks MARY, (loved the taco icon and saved it!)
BIKI, (for the funny story about Taco Bell for two)
KATIE ( you also bravely confessed about the 2 soda's.
TEE, (you, too) Aren't we the funny ones?

CHINA, Thank you. You can call me Sweetpea or anything else, anytime you feel like it! You notice that I have my own name for you.
You will be able to manage maintenance...there is some great transition/maintenance information on our site, and you soon get the hang of it.
It takes the same commitment and determination as working the losing phase of the MF plan.
So it won't be long now.
What part do you sing in the choir, or do you do something else, like direct or play an instrument?
I almost always sang in the choir (alto) until the last few years.
I still love it!

Hi Lizabette - I have not had a taco salad yet on program without the shells - I really should try it - I guess you could just use a little taco seasoning for the meat and just use salsa for the dressing. That sounds pretty good....I think I just might have to try it. If you have any further suggestions, I would love to hear them. Thanks Lizabette.

I meant I have ordered enough food for two people's lunches before.....not everything on the menu. ;) I never thought of it.....wonder if I would have done it if I had thought of it....hhmmmmm. Will never know now as I will not be ordering drive through often at all.

I have been guilty of ordering 2 family style pizzas and then eating them for every meal (and snack) for a weekend while DH would be away. I love pizza....he doesn't....so it was a way that I could pig out on one of my favorite foods. I also have purchased enough candy or ice cream bars for my entire family, pretending that I was picking out each person's favorite and then eating ALL of them as I drove home.

Ai-yi-yi-----the horrible memories of a glutton unleashed.

TEE, isn't that something? Pizza has always been one of my favorite foods. And I could eat the whole thing!
Now we do have pizza once in a while and I can eat one nice piece, with a BIG salad and be satisfied.
We really don't have to do without our favorites on maintenance, but as you know, it is a matter of portion control---just like being in control on the losing phase.
Also to satisfy the pizza craving, I enjoy the Whole Grain Lean Pocket Pizza (220 calories) and always have a nice serving of spinach, salad or other vegetables with it.
SUE, I still do a lot of chicken stir fry using frozen veggies for my L & G.
I also like a big salad, with different cut up fresh veggies and top with canned salmon, or grilled chicken.
It's nice to eat healthfully and still lose weight or maintain.
DH eats the same way I do, and he doesn't complain.

'bette, I do think it is a good thing that I'm having plateaus and stalls during this journey (heavens but I do hate admitting and saying that--I feel like I'm inviting more of the darn things to visit me & my journey) because it gives me the opportunity to practice sticking to wiser food choices and ignorning the little devil on my shoulder that says 'what the heck, you aren't losing weight and you are going through all this deprivation of foods that everyone else is getting to eat.....so just have some of ________ or ________ or _________ and some _____, too'. I need the practice since I was never good at telling myself 'no' before MF and I need to learn 'NO!!'. ;)

Heyyyyyyyy Mz Lizz...after reading your post i said to myself...i CANNNNNNNNN do this when the time comes..lol!...and you are so RIGHT when you said it's all about portion control and appropriate choices. Those foods you mentioned are some of my very favorites too...but i COULD eat grilled skinless chicken breast on a bed of lettuce with raw veggies with soe Paul Newman's Lighten-Up Balsalmic Vineagrette (sp) dressing EVERYDAY i kid you not! But it's so nice to know we do have other choices of things we may eat and STILL remain within our goal weight or in close proximity to it...ahhhhhh sigh:+)

Love'ya

It's funny. I used to LOVE pizza, but now there are only a few places I can stand to eat it. It has to have a thin crust and not a lot of cheese and sauce - and especially no really gooey cheese. And even then, I think I've had it maybe twice since I hit maintenance last August.
