Okay, CHI-GIRL,
Image
You asked for it! And I'm happy to tell you.You would be so proud of him, too.
My Joe-boy is 17, and just graduated from High School, with honors (above 3.5 gr. pt. ave.)
The article gives a little rundown. Sunday he played "Sonatina" by Clementi for the church offeratory.
But later, at the senior honor dinner he entertained us with songs, including "Bumble Bee Boogie".
At his recent audition for the recital he received a 98+ pt. grade.
Oh, I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.
My heart seems to burst when I hear him play with his God-given talent.
Yeah, we were at his beginning recital and every year thereafter.
You won't want to see me when he goes away to college...where his majar will be piano.
Thank you so much for asking about my Joe-boy. (I am the only one he allows to call him that!)
So tonight will be his last recital at least for some time.

Thank you HB, I know you understand!
I'm so glad to 'know' you and see that you are doing so good!
Life is bitter-sweet!

BIKI, I am so proud! Really Joe is our 7th grandkid to graduate.
Guess I am getting softer as I get older!
The others live in other parts of the country, but we were able to see most of them graduate.
I love 'em all!

TEE. You jumped in so quick I almost missed you. Thanks for the "TINY"!
Yes, we expect great things from Joe. He is the only g'kid who excells in music.
Hey, just a note: In my previous journal I made a statement about the right choices being a decision we make.
Well, I was mindlessly thinking about a snack while ago and picked up a snack bar, before it was time!
I thought about what I had said and told myself, "you just said that our choices are a decision we make, and here you are, making a wrong choice.
That thing flew back in the box. WHEW!
So if it didn't help any one else, it helped me.
But what I did, I took one of those little choc-flavored calcium chews, (20 cal) and slowly ate it. And good for me, too.
More than one way to skin a cat!

Dear Itsy ~

Thank you for sharing Joe’s accomplishments with us – you and Bill have a wonderful legacy – it is large and long, though you are but a tiny minute yourself. We see the results of the excellent life-long example lived out before your children and grandchildren and now us. I am ever thankful for knowing you and for the way the Lord has enabled our paths to cross.

Five years ago I was terribly broken in my spirit and caught up in a downward spiral with my foody issues and due to my position, I felt there was no one who could ever know how badly I wanted to climb out of the darkening cave of despair and be rid of the feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. I know if I had known you then, you would be just the one to pat my hand and encourage me. If I had not taken the necessary steps to turn my life around, deflab and share with others, we would not know of you or your special family.

Again I have learned that God is ever good to us, He can make great things come of difficult situations if we do not give up.

As always, today you shared yourself and encouraged us all.

The process of raising up children, hovering over their bassinet and those sleepless nighttime feedings… walking them through the school years and letting them go for college and marriage – wow! That is a mighty big task – like your weight loss project and weight management journey – you are a winner in all categories!

Thank you for your friendship and wisdom.

You go, Joe, go!

I know he's probably playing right this minute as i type:+)..and you are sitting there just soooooooo PROUD listening at a future recital at Carnige Hall(sp) in the making!!! What a resume' he has ALREADY!!!..such wonderful accomplishments he's made in such a short time..bless his heart. I see he is a "well rounded" musician, and that will give him the opportunity to pursue and perform the music of HIS choice.
He has a very BRIGHT future awaiting him Liz.

I wonder if he's fond of Fredrick Chopin...i played "Fantasy Impromptu" as my audition selection to get into the music department at The College Of Saint Rose...he's my favvvvorite composer:+)

You tell for me your friend wishes him the BEST OF LUCK in his future endeavors and that "the SKY IS THE LIMIT"!!!

Thank you Mzz Liz for sharing your grandson's "impressive" musical career with me:+))...i can really relate!

Ok, will see'ya later.

Love,
Chynna

The recital was wonderful, of course. CHINA, Joe played Polonaise by Chopin as one of his selections.
One of the other excellent young pianists played your song, Fantasie Impromtu by Chopin.
You would have enjoyed it. He also did Hazel's Boogie Woogie, Scott, and a duet Exodus by Gold.
It's been an exciting day and tomorrow back to the ordinary. Except for our company (brother and wife from Las Vegas here for a few days)
Thank you for the best wishes for Joe.

NANCY, I appreciate your post so much. Always encouraging to me.
I think of your situation five years ago and am grateful that you took those steps to actually save your own life,
and then to help to save the lives of others, me for one.
No telling how many people you have inspired to travel the same path your took to fitness and health.
We really can't fathom how our actions, good or bad, affect others around us. Hopefully it is more good than bad.
Thank you again for your always present support.
