MARCH 24, 2007 - 131.3#

Will get my journalling in first thing this morning.
Well, not really the first thing, but at least before I get into all the days doings.
I've had my favorite breakfast (which is what I almost always have).
Oatmeal with 1 TBSP flaxmeal, 1/3 C Craisins, skim milk.
And of course coffee (thinking of TAWANDA)
Remember now, this is Maintenance.

So I was catching up on my daily Bible reading, and one verse jumps out at me.
It is in Exodus 33, where God is dealing with the stiffnecked Israelites, whom he has delivered out of Egypt's bondage.
As Moses enters into the tabernacle to pray, the cloudy pillar descends, and stands at the door of the tabernacle.
And the Lord talks with Moses...(Here's the amazing part! )
Vs 11"And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend..."
That just spoke to me!

Well, where do I go from here?
I'm doing okay on the scale situation, I think.
I'm going to really have to get down to business...I mean, really...to get myself down under 130# and maintain there!
Not that I haven't been trying.
I am eating those healthful things that I feel my body needs...
SOJI said, maybe I'm building muscle which is heavier.
But that is a good thing!
The treadmill is calling...even as I think of other chores in the mill.
It is a gorgeous day out. Who knows what other things will occur to me?
All for now, my friends!

Wow!, Biki is so gorgeous! She is just wowser! And it is not the rearls either!
She is sultry…

(The rearls are very nice, BTW)

Oh, yeah, Lauren - I USED to do the mental math and think about what thinner would be like and wanted to BE thinner but never seemed able to DO the things that lead to thinness. Now we know we can because of the wonderful things we learn while following the guidelines of the program and shedding the porkies.

Itsy, thanks for sharing your shedding and maintaining success with us and also the Scriptures. I used to be so stiff-necked and donkey-hearted myself when it came to how I faced food - I wanted my OWN foody way; I was stubborn about letting go of food, dumping my bad habits, of using food to foodicate & comfort me - every day - by bagful or forkful, I was killing myself with food instead of finding release and comfort from things that last, from valuable and trustworthy relationships.

Tawanda, it does feel good and happy to chew the fat and have intertwined relationships over a shaker jar, eh?
Nothing tastes as good as thin feels...

NANCY, you have such a way with words.
You make all these hard lessons we are learning such fun and make us laugh to salve the pain of learning them.
You know, I felt a little 'out-of-controlish' myself today mainly because of my scheduling or lack of it.
I waited 'til lunch to have my second meal/snack, (my first mistake).
Then I was still hungry after that, and had my bar and PB too soon after lunch (second mistake).
I tried to get 'back on track' by waiting until my L&G time to eat again.
BUT my burger patty portion was larger than it should have been. (third goof!)
I took an extra walk after that (walked the babies) to try to use up some extra energy.
And for no reason at all, I felt 'fat' again!
We have days like that!
And I may feel the pain at Roll Call in the morning!

JONNA, Thank you. I hope you had a beautiful day today.
It's good that whatever our day was, we can all start out 'fresh' with the new day tomorrow!

RIGHT ON, BIKI! It's never too late to teach an 'old dog' new tricks! Me, of course! Thanks,

TAWANDA, I have my coffee handy, and you and BIKI are the first to get my posts for today.
Even the all important ROLL CALL, which I will account to a little later...maybe even after church.
(Mainly cause I'm running late this a.m.)

So, good day, my friends..love ya!

MARCH 26, 2007 - 131.8 - A NEW DAY!

So I can begin this week with a new resolve. Schedule right, eat right, exercise right, think right...oh well, and just LIVE right! RIGHT?

I have read some really good posts this week (mostly Journals). I wish I could respond to each one...there are so many!
But I delight in reading the funny, hilarious, serious, encouraging responses.
Anyway, just so you know, that it is inspiring to read of the victories and trials of others,
much the same as I have had over the past year and a half on my weight loss/maintenance journey.
And to know that anything, yep, anything that affects us negatively can be overcome with God's help... and with my help... and with your help!
We are all here for each other.
That's it in a big nutshell!

Well, if I really put my mind to it, I believe that I can get myself back down to under my last mini-goal of 130# and PTL, even stay there!
I am almost 7 months along (no, not preggies, silly!). Of maintenance, on the 31st of March.

Even as I challenge myself, old Mr. taps me on the shoulder and sneers, "Yeah, but what if you can't do it! You'll be a big disappointment to everybody!"
So what's your point, Mr.? Nothing ventured, nothing gained (or lost!)
End of conversation!

It's a new week...and we'll make the best of it!

Lizabette~ I sure have missed you.

Don't let Mr. man let you think for one second that you could ever be a disappointment to us. You are a beacon of light.

I look forward to reading your journal every day, because I know you are going to write something that I need to think about for myself.

There are so many of you successful ones here, that I cannot help but feel encouraged daily to stay stedfast in my journey.

Thank you for being you!!!!!

MARCH 27, 2007 - 130.8

Whoohoo and Yippee! DH and I finished up our taxes and electronically emailed this morning. (Even without JO's expertise!)
TurboTax does a pretty good job for us. It was a bit more complicated for us this year, because of some extra business/sale stuff.
Next year should be a breeze!
Since DH is computer illiterate, guess who gets the privelege...gotta say though he keeps all the records and files straight so it is definitely a team effort!

Whoohoo again! I'm heading back down again on the scale...(knock on wood... and whatever else is handy!).
I like ROBIN's idea of calling it a 'tune-up'. It doesn't sound so formidable that way!

I also liked JO's idea of my goal weight being my top weight! It has been that way for me at 135# for almost 7 months (on March 31st).
Now I want my top weight to be 130#.
That may take some doing in relation to the amount of exercise I do, and the amount of calories I eat.
It depends on my willingness to plan my meals/excercise correctly, (without counting calories, I hope.)
Wish I had a trainer/cook like Oprah to take all the guess work out.
Anybody you know available for the job...or a book or a web site? HELP!

If I thought for an instant that reaching goal would be the end of this journey, forget it!
The rewards and joys are too great to forget it. It is my LIFE, from now on!

Hi, Lizabette ! Congrats on your weighin :). You are very vibrant .

Hey, have you ever tried fitday ? I just finally got hooked up with it and I really like it because I can keep track of all of my food and activities on there and I don't have to do too much of the math once everything I want is entered in. I will pm you the link :)

Cheers,
Karli

Hi women,
I have to tell you I am a newly converted fitday addict. I love my account!! It's been a real benefit for me to see my day on paper. I've had to add a lot of foods, but LOVE it!!! 8)
