It's afternoon now, my CHI, and just getting around to the 'puter.
Took the babies to the beauty shop, and did some shopping specially at the Christian Book store.
Found a book there a good friend had recommended, "Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy" by Barbara Johnson. It is both hilarious and inspirational.
Actually it is three books in one, entitled "The Joyous Writings of Barbara Johnson." with the Geranium book and two others included.
I know I'm going to love it all, and oh, I am hoping for some time to read it all soon!
Main thing I went for was a DVD of the Bible to read on computer (or TV) for a gift. I have enjoyed mine so much and makes the Bible so much more understandable and enriching.
Oh, I love my birthday cashmere sweater from DH. It is velvet purple.
Gotta get back to 'stuff' now, my angel. Thanks for popping in.
Love you the most...

The way things are stacking up, it looks like I'll be AWOL from the boards for several days, perhaps 'til after Christmas.
It's a little early, but I want to wish you all a Blessed Christmas Season and the greatest, healthiest, skinniest New Year you've ever had!
Thank you all for your wonderful support---couldn't have made it this far without you.
Love you all the most!...

Merry Christmas Lizabette! May God's blessings abound for you and yours during the next week and through the New Year, too.

I saw Barbara Johnson years ago at a Women of Faith conference. I loved her humor and enjoyed reading some of her writings since then. :)

Take care of you!

Thank you so much BIK, TEE & ERICA...
My daughter sent me the following List, and I felt it was too good to waste away in my computer.

40 TIPS FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL, SUPERB AND POWERFUL LIFE:

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk,
smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock
if you have to.
3. Record your late night shows and get more sleep.
4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following
statement, "My purpose is to____ today."
5. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
6. Watch more movies, play more games and read more books thanyou did last year .
7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, tai chi, and
prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our ; busy lives.
8. Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under
the age of 6.
9. Dream more while you are awake.
10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less
food that is manufactured in plants.
11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild
Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
13. Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk
and let new and flowing energy into your life.
14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy
vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you
cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive
present moment.
15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn.
Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and
fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will
last a lifetime.
16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner
like a college kid.
17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires
away.
18. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
22. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the
present.
23. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what
their journey is all about.
24. Burn the candles, use the nice bed sheets, don’t save it
for a special occasion. Today is special.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five
years, will this matter?"
27. Forgive everyone for everything.
28. What other people think of you is none of your business.
29. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.
30. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. So
stop complaining about the weather, the job, the rents etc
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your
friends will. Stay in touch.
32. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or
joyful.
33. Envy is a was te of time. You already have all you need.
34. The best is yet to come.
35. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
36. Do the right thing!
37. Call your family often.
38. Each night before you go to bed complete the following
statements: "I am thankful for ___." Today I accomplished
____.
39. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
40. Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and
you certainly don't want a fast pass. You only have one ride
through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride.
May your troubles be less, May your blessings be more. And may
nothing but happiness come through your door!

Oh, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Season and now going into the New Year...
My visiting family are all now gone and we are in a recuperating mode ;)
I haven't read any posts lately, but will begin soon, and I'll be reporting on myself also.

Thanks for the welcome back, BIK! You're ticker looks good, and the pictures in your journal, wowiezowie!
I am slowly coming back to the boards and plan to go perhaps even slower on posting.
When I started Medifast in January 2006, I weighed a hefty 195+ pounds---at five one height, that is a bit much!
On August 31, '06, I reached my goal of 135#, and went on to lose a few more pounds. Then up and down a few pounds, but I maintained under goal for over a year... so I'm happy with myself about that.

I gained some pounds over the holidays---highest was 137.5---but now heading back down. 135.9# this morning.
I've done exercise several times a week, the Y and home walking dvd's.
I had two cataract surgeries during that time and all is well on that front.

So what now? The new year is here and time to take a deep breath and set a few new goals for myself. Healthwise and otherwise.
I've toyed for some time about setting another goal of 130# and below. (I think 128.5# is ideal for me)
That will be a slow process, but not excessive, I'm sure. Certainly better than gaining bit by bit.
So this is my journal that I'm accounting to, besides my home journal.
If anyone wants to join me in making a new goal, it would be nice to have company.
BTW. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!!!

I would like to maintain at 130 instead of 135. I am still considered heifer sized by some modeling standards but for me it is about being able to safely keep my 100 star. 133 is 100 pounds so if i stay closer to 130 I wouldn't feel so nervous come roll call.
