Today is my brother Carl's Memorial service in Las Vegas and will be a sad day for me.
I could not make another trip there since I went earlier and spent some precious and quality time with him.
Thank you all for your thoughtfulness and condolences.
In the Lord, we have a hope beyond this life.

Dear Liz, in my opinion, the trip you made a few weeks ago was the best one to have made. You spent time with him while he was living, what a precious gift that must have been for both him and yourself.

Hug yourself extra long today.....you know that he isn't truly 'gone', he has just gone ahead to the next life.

Thank you, TEE, and you are so right. And I know that, too. And I have wonderful memories to treasure always.
I kept myself pretty busy today.
This morning I did a two mile fast walk/jog tape. Then I went with a friend to a WW meeting, working on perfecting my maintenance.
(Even tho' I lost my weight on MF, I happen to be a lifetime member, so it doesn't cost me anything. YAY!)
I believe that keeping myself healthy is the best gift I can give myself and my family.
A loss, though stressful, is no reason or excuse to lose track of our goals for a fit/healthy life.
During my weight loss journey, I also lost a sister, my best pal. I believe that being founded and steadfast in my goals helped me through that also.
I could have easily spiraled backwards.
I noticed this morning, according to my Weight Commander, which tracks my weight every day, these numbers were interesting:
90 days ago - 131.6
60 days ago - 131.5
30 days ago - 131.1
Today - 131.8
I have varied under and over these numbers all during that time. I am feeling good and I think I look good,
but I wonder if I can finally get under 130# and maintain if I would feel more secure (happy, satisfied) in my maintenance.
Just thinking...
But no sweat, my rocking TEE.
I'm excited that you are almost at goal. I don't want to have to bring out my skinny stick again! :-P
Thanks for the hugs...

Hi there,

I have been off-line for a spell - things got so busy at home.

I just wanted to see how you were and tell you that I am doing just fine.

I hope you will have a perfectly lovely weekend!

I wanted to get my weight report in tonight, 'cause it might not be as good tomorrow. :-P For some reason the scale usually fluctuates upwards on Sunday...
It's 131.4# and still maintaining under goal weight after more than a year at it.
This week, I've been going to the Y, and also doing exercise tapes at home. Add to that, walking the 'babies' with DH each day.
I'm happy with the way maintenance keeps falling into place...I'd like it a little more if I dropped a couple more pounds under 130, but I'm not going to sweat it.
I think it will happen, slowly but surely...
Have a good evening and an especially good day tomorrow.

good morning lizabette! its good to hear that maintenance has been fairly easy for you. i need a SERIOUS favor. i know that you are famous for your skinny stick. well...i need you to go after someone for me. I don't want her to be mamed or anything, just a little shake of the stick, you know, a gentle threat. It's that dang scale fairy!!! She refuses to do what needs to be done when it comes to me. i hate to be selfish because i know her little wings get tired from trying to visit EVERYONE but jeez... she stops by me briefly, drops a LITTLE dust, then flutters away quickly. i was pleading on the boards last time for her to leave some extra dust so i could glue it to my scale. TO NO AVAIL! So, if you would, just pay her a little visit, skinny stick in hand...you know how to handle the rest! :D If she seems a little resistant, give her a good whack! We all need a wake up call sometimes. Thanks in advance!

Lizabette you continue to provide an excellent example. Even with your recent loss, you have kept up with the exercise and your routine. I haven't exercised in three days because I got bogged down in preparing for my photo shoot and extra role but I get up at 5am and there is no reason I couldn't have slipped some exercise in there-even climbing stairs.

Hey, ERICA, I really know how you feel about that silly little scale fairy. She just pays no attention to our pleading sometimes.
But tell you what. Let's make a deal...
You put up an avatar, and I'll see what I can do about stirring up the wing dust for ya. You see, she doesn't really know what you look like...a rabbit or something?
Silver Fox's 'skinny stick' can be VERY persuasive when she wants to help out a friend in need.
Whadda you say?
Be anxiously waiting...

Thanks, BIK. you always make a body feel good! I'm really excited about your photo shoots and your extra role.
Who knows what all this will lead to...
If you don't chose to pursue it, you will have had a lot of fun, and the knowledge that you can do whatever it is that you really want to do.
I can imagine you used up a lot of energy (think calories) with all you have been doing, so don't fret about the exercise time lost.
You'll make it up and then some.
You go, my little friend.
