Thanks, TEE and DONI,
Gotta tell you again, T, that I really love your new avatar.
You guys are doing so good---trucking right along toward goal.
WTG!

Great NSV last night. My darling DIL who is slim as a reed told me that I was no bigger than a minute!
Is that sweet, or what?

Had a good day today, including my water aerobics, (which seems mild compared to the weight/resistance class.)
Then went with my SIL Mary Lou to some nearby garage sales when I should have been home getting ready for company.
(The hubsters say we are a bad influence on each other!)
Found a few practical things which I could have lived without!
I think I am getting pickier and pickier!
Tomorrow is another day to get down to business about the cleaning!
DH does most of the heavy work like the mopping and vacuuming.
I also plan to do a walking-tape for exercise.
I'm already tired...all for now.

Oh my.
Seven years.
Aren't kids just a hoot??

My 6-year-old nephew and his mom stopped by this evening just as DH was heading off to work his cop shift (Mason is enthralled with his uncle being a cop). As DH walked down the driveway, Mason's mom said, "Bye, Uncle Robert - be safe!" To which Mason added (yelling in case we had suddenly all gone deaf), "Yeah! Try not to get yourself KILLED!!"

So, now I'm listening to the scanner all night....

LOL, Liz!! I'll have to make sure I read your journal more often in order to be a more active participant in your seven remaining years!!

Mike showed me the pics in your journal -- wow! What a testimony in so many ways!!

I didn't read far enough back to get the full story of your duck family, but my heart aches just the same. We adopted a furry carnivore in December, and by the end of January, he had valiantly and proudly hunted both of our rabbits for us. (Lately, he presented us with two turkey vulture chicks -- it's a wonder the parents didn't go after him for that one!)

Hugs and prayers!

Oh, my goodness. The three above posts are from the 22 yr. professor, great teacher,
and 4pt grade average inductee into the most prestigious honor society in the world!
I learned things from SOJI's journal
And's here's 5ft, 3/4inches tall, no-bigger-than-a-minute, ME!
I bow down to you all...
Honestly!
CHINA, thank you. I am watching your great progress.
I am still admiring your picture with your distinquished DH.
What be his profession? or to what could we attribute his fabulous good looks.
Yes, I do go to the Y for water aerobics, and my walking tape is also by Leslie Sansone.
Plus I have a small collection of other exercise tapes that are quite good.
Today, could I count house work for exercise? Because I haven't gotten any in yet.
I'm sure that "hot mess" is a compliment from ERRIN. No way, it's not!
BTW, she looks just like a younger you!
DI, if my seven remaining years will entice you to participate in my journal, goody!
When I think about it, that might not be that far fetched, seeing I am now 77 years on this earth.
Acccording to SOJI. who wrote once in my journal that we are not old unless we quit thinking & learning, or something like that!
I tried to go back to find that statement! Help me out SOJI...'cause I want to live a long, learning life.
I am so happy you all are part of my life, now!

Sophia Loren is attributed as having said, “There is a fountain of youth; it is in your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of the people you love. When you will learn to tap the source, you will have truly defeated age.”

Itsy, I know that you have learned to tap The Source – only God knows the number of days He has ordained for us; you truly are an inspiration to all you touch.

Age really has no importance unless we are a fine wine or a cheese.

You look fabulous, you are fabulous and we are just glad to know ya!

LOL Liz, you are so sweet..bless you my friend:+)

Well he is retired now after working for Honeywell for 32 years as a large-scale Computer Representative/Trouble Shooter. He's one that hassssss to keep himself busy, so he got himself a job at Home Depot...thank God, cause Liz believe it or not, he get's on my NERVES so bad sometimes, i could kill'm, but i love'him ta death:+))

As far as his fabulous good looks as you say,,,he eats verrrrry HEALTHY...mostly fruits and veggies and minimal amounts of seasoning...actually it's BLAND...lol!...i HATE it. But one thing that really puzzles me is that he uses ALOTTTTT of salt on mostly everything, and hardly EVER drinks water, just Pepsi caffeine free, and his health is BETTER than mine...i just can't understand that!

It's so funny, but yesterday he was in the yard doing his gardening and landscaping (loves'it) and i'd just gotten home from Macy's, and went outside to say hello, and as i was about to walk back towards the house he said "honey..i love the way you are taking care of yourself and i am so proud of you..i needed to say that"..and i said HUH-WHAT???...totally caught me off-guard...didn't even realize he noticed. Ok, i've talked enough now Liz:+)

Have a great week!!

Love,

Where, oh where, could I have a greater circle of friends than right here on MMT forums?
NANCY, you are a teacher/minister and a blessing to all of us.
I  to you, also.
I am neither fine wine, nor cheese, so Age, you don't matter!
But I do know The Source and that does matter!
And you have had a BIG part in keeping me younger and alive longer!
I believe you will be rewarded a hundred fold...

CHINA, your post just came on.
Thanks for filling me in on your handsome DH. Might have known he was a smart dude. You can tell him I said so.
Now I understand the 'retired' stuff you referred to.
If my DH wasn't so hyper ( I really have to try to slow him down some) I would feel the same way.
He eats very good, maybe too much, but is a good weight, also doesn't drink enough water unless I nag him about it.
We served as missionaries in the Philippines for several years, and while there he aquired Diabetes..
...from drinking the strong cokes, had little good water to drink, and stress of building churches and tense political situation of the country.
He now is on insulin 3-4 times a day.
But controlling it quite well.

That was such a 'from the heart' NSV, you can bask in that for a long time.
I appreciate all the good support from my guy also.
Thanks again, CHINA. Hope you don't mind my calling you that!

We don't stop learning because we get too old, we get old because we stop learning.

Lizabette, I don't remember exactly where I got that quote, but I think it was from the book tuesdays with Morrie, or maybe it was from one of my textbooks. If I wasn't so dang old myself, I might have more luck remembering, eh?

Anyway, Lizabette, I think you are living proof of that statement...just the fact that you are online right now, for instance. Not a lot of folks of your "experience" even attempt the new stuff, and here you are, whizzing all around these boards! I know I've told you before, but you ROCK!!

Thank you SOJI. I'll try to burn that statement on my brain!
Anything to keep me going for my final (seven) years.
I was around when computers first came on the scene (TV's too! Yikes!) and we bought a tiny PCjr.
I've played with computers ever since. :puter:
I haven't tried to master the IPOD or what's those other thingies that kids use nowadays?
SOJI, I notice that you are not 'that' far from goal. WTG!
Okay. See you at Roll Call tomorrow!

129.8#

I mentioned in Roll Call that this is really where I'd like to be all the time, or a little lower to be comfortable.
But it's nip and tuck keeping it there. Roll call was great today.

CHI, Thank you so much,
Can't wait to see the pics with your be-ootiful shoes and attire. I know you'll do good with the sipping part...
Don't keep us waiting, girl.

MAY 21, 2007 - 130.3#

Thanks, DEE. I know you were interested in my duck saga. I appreciate it!
Having a little lull this morning between chores getting ready for company tonight, and also my g'son Joe-boy's piano recital.
Everything going as scheduled and no huge stress.
It's somehow always restful reading the posts and checking in on my medi-buddies (who coined that appropriate phrase?)
'Bout time for lunch and then back down to 'business'.
This is the beginning of a new week and new resolve to finish the course...
it certainly is for me!
Too bad, we can't just reach our goal and then say, Thank the Lord, we're done!
Good thing is, we can continue to be fit and healthy by choosing the right course.
I read in someone's journal, paraphrasing, "Choosing right is a decision we make."
