MAY 5, 2007 - 129.8#
Two consecutive days under the 130# mark. Whoopee!
We had our pictures made today for the church pictorial.
We can kill two birds with one stone (didn't really mean it, birds!)
and use them for our Christmas cards and gifts this year.
And whatever!

NANCY, you're the greatest!
You took us all the way through beginning our journey on Medifast, all the pitfalls, the support, the transition
and on to maintenance...all because of our mama duck!
Ducky is still at her post of duty today. She flew out to the lake today for awhile and we saw only two eggs on the seat.
But there are 4 on the floor which had fallen off.
Not a good thing for us to touch anything, so we'll just leave everything be!
HB, thanks for keeping tabs on this process!
I hope this has not all been a 'wild duck' chase!

Sunday Roll Call is almost upon us.
I'm always looking to see how great everyone is doing!
See y'all!

MAY 7, 2007 - 130.5# (for two days in a row.)

I keep thinking I will not post my weight so often, but it is something to talk about!
I'm pleased that it is staying at the low end of the 130's.
My body isn't used to being monitored so closely...but better that than going out of control as it was too much of the time in my past!

Last night, we attended the Hot Springs Music Club Annual Honors Recital.
Our 18yr old grandson, Joe, had won a scholarship in piano from the Music Club and was one of the honored participants.
Lots of wonderful talent there
Joe astonishes us with his musical gifts! Besides piano, he plays trombone in the HS band, and the guitar in a student jazz band.
He's graduating this month. Proud of that kid!

Today, DH made a boat call on mama duck.
She had left the nest for a bit, so he carefully picked up the extra eggs on the floor and added them to the two eggs left on the seat.
She is back now and setting on all 6 eggs!
No, we have no idea what we're doing in this situation...does anyone? :?

My Y exercise is done for the day,(except for the doggy walk later) and I can settle down for a few minutes.
Had my bar with P/B , my favorite regular snack and giving a little thought to my L&G for dinner.
My thinker is about thunk out!
But not to worry, I haven't missed a meal yet on this unique journey of mine.
Can't help but admire many of you who are working outside the home, and still able to keep up with everything.
WTG!

MAY 8, 2007 - 130# - (maintenance going good!)

I'm always pleasantly surprised upon weighing each morning that my maintenance continues to hold.
Why should I be surprised? I don't know why.
I guess it's just hard to believe that with different activities, excercise, meals, water issues, etc. that can change my metabolism, it remains fairly constant.
(that is, wavers only a pound or two either way)

Went to the Strong Women group held at a local church nearby and did the weight training and some aerobics.
This is not necessarily for weight loss, but for building stronger bones, muscles, etc. If it helps the weight, so much the better.
In fact it could raise my weight a little, I understand.
A nice NSV. Instructor complimented my "good posture". Said she could tell that I have done lots of exercise.

Mama Duck still on her eggs!!!! I think this is Day 19 for her.
So we remain patient...

Not much to post today---just checking in.
Hoping you (anyone who happens to drop in) are doing well and still forging on toward your goals.
'Bout time to get somehing happening in the kitchen for dinner.
I'm hearing some thunder, which may hinder our doggy walk-a-thon.

No ducklings yet, huh?

Well, SOJI, as it turned out, nothing but a few sprinkles! And no treadmill for doggies...just their usual 'exhilarating' journey on our hilly, wooded street!
Brilliant idea, tho'.

When it rains it kinda pours. All the nice comments from DONI, SUZY and TEE made my evening.
Thanks for dropping in to say hi, and asking about mama duck.
This is a mystery to us! DH wants me to go online to find out how long it takes duck eggs to hatch!
But "Que Sera Sera" (little bit of foreign lingo, there) and we do what we have to do.
That's the way life is...right, y'all?

Duck eggs take approx 28 days to hatch ... and they will hatch 24 hours apart from each other. I'll PM you a link, Lizabette. I just know you will be a wonderful grannie to those ducklings! :)

Hey, Lizabette ~ it takes about a month for duck eggs to hatch. Technically, 28-30 days. There is a certain type of duck that takes a few days longer, but your little squatter looks like a Mallard hen to me.

Not only is DH a duck-man, my college campus is full of ducks (mostly Mallards, but some wood ducks, too) and canada geese. It's very cool. I saw the first goosling of the season just yesterday...and I thought of you! So, yes, the hatching season is here. Last year, there was a duck family with 13 ducklings! They were absolutely adorable! I've never seen more than 6 or 7 ducklings before that. I might have a pic somewhere, 'cause I know I took one. I'll post it for you when I find it. Just so you can see what you have to look forward to! It sounds as though you have little more than a week to wait...

Thank you, MARY and SOJI,
Great information. Now we kinda know what to expect and when to expect the expected!
The link was very informative and helpful, MARY. Thanks alot.
SOJI, you and your DH are duck experts.
We have had duck families come on land and travel around some, but mostly they row up on the lake and look so cute!
First time any of them ever adopted us! I took another picture today.
Maybe you can find your picture to post for us.
Thanks again.

Hi SUZY, Sweet of you to check in on my journal again.
Duckies still not here, but we're watching close to catch them in the act if possible.
Doing fine on my maintenance. It's a whole lot like being on m/f program in that I have a flexible plan for maintaining.
It get's to be a way of life, and the feelings of being in control of my health and fitness are so worthwhile.
Thank you for asking.
You are doing wonderful, SUZY. Over 40# gone forever!
Aren't you just enjoying those temporary smaller sizes of clothes, but not for long...they're going to get smaller and smaller!
WTG!
