:woohoo: Wow! You made it to your goal! That is fantastic! I know you will maintain it because you know how to and because you have a great plan. Planning is so important. When I get to my goal.....I'm going to come back here and read your plan again.

Congratulations Lizabette!

Hey thanks, DONI & BIKI,
It is an exciting day---I'm still walking around in disbelief!
I forgot something in my above post, that all-important WATER.
So I went back and edited it in.
It is pretty amazing how habits (good and bad!) are formed. When we do a certain thing for so long, it becomes almost second nature.
So almost everything I do seems to just come natural!
That is one good thing about losing slowly and taking longer...it gives us time for the body to adjust and to aquire good habits---
as opposed to my previous unhealthy habits.

TAWANDA's journal discussed the scale/weight issue earlier. How often to weigh?
At first I wasn't sure what would be best for me. So I tried twice a week, once a week, and once every morning.
My weight fluctuated quite a bit, even when totally compliant... but usually I would have a loss at the weekly Roll Call, however small.
(There's that 'accountability thing again.l)
I thought, "Well I guess my body knows what it's doing!"
Finally, I became comfortable with the idea that it would go up and down, and settled on every morning.
It has worked for me.
But everyone is so different, and each one must find his/her own way!

At maintenance, it is definitely a good idea (for me) to weigh daily, so old habits do not 'creep' back in.
And to pretty much do what I was doing during the weight loss phase. As someone has said, it has to be a way of life.
And that doesn't mean that we can't enjoy our favorite treats from time to time.
Life can be beautiful while celebrating our good health and thinness!
So pretty girls, keep the faith and the good work, and it will happen to you before you know it!

TAWANDA, Thank you. You're so sweet!
Your battle cry reminds me of other powerful battle cries---"Remember the Alamo","Remember Pearl Harbor".
The battle is on and we will win! Just keep remembering that!

karli: Lizabette, congrats on meeting your new maintenance weight goal !! Wow, so quickly !!

It was quick for me, (5# in 11 days) KARLI, because of my slow weight loss history. But I suppose it was the spurt of loss that usually happens at first.
I had been maintaining my 60# Goal weight for going on 7 months.
Which means I will have to be extra vigilant in maintaining it. Thank you!

KATIE,
Thank you so much! I can remember how excited I was everytime I reached a new club.
20# club was really great---that's a lot of potatoes!
And having mini-goals helped a lot too! Maybe every 5# and then celebrate in some way.
And you know, before long I was there at the goal line.
Really, the whole journey was exciting, and meeting such great friends like you along the way makes it even more so.

Today, I was up a little from the weekend. This new weight of 130# may be a little more difficult to maintain, but you can believe that I will give it all I've got!

You go girl!
:drive:

WED. FEBRUARY 21,2007

WOW! It is just like spring today. Shirt sleeve weather and some of our plants are budding!
We will be going out for our walk shortly and it should be very nice and pleasant.

130.3 this morning, so I am fluctuating up and down since I reached my new goal on Saturday.
I am doing pretty much as I did before in transitioning/maintaining and it seems to be coming together okay.
I would like to stay just under goal most of the time and I'm not quite there yet!

A good day to all of you!

FEB. 23, 2007 - 130.1# TODAY!

Weather is supposed to change today, back to cooler and rainy later today.
We wouldn't want it to be absolutely, fantasically gorgeous every day, now would we?
How boring would that be?

Thank you, TAWANDA. I'm happy, too, that my new goal seems to be stabilizing! 130.1 today!
I am beginning to realize more and more that paying closer attention to healthy eating gives me a greater sense of satisfaction
and is more enjoyable than harum scarum eating.
And in fact it is a necessity, if I wish to maintain a healthy weight!
Include in that at least moderate exercise most days.

BIKI, you have to be so excited that your trip to Hong Kong is so near!
I wish you had twice the amount of time to stay, because there is tooooo much to see in such a short time!
Please ride the tram up to the top of the mountain to see some of the most fantastic scenery in the world!
I know it is getting late, but if I have time to dig out my slides I could give you more information.
But no doubt you have already researched it!
I am excited for you. Wish I could fit into your suitcase and go with you!
Just be sure to give us a blow by blow account when you get back!
