GINA, my girl. Great to have you back. You did so wonderful before and you can do it again.
If it seems harder this time, it probably is...but great that you know it works and just what to do.
I appreciate you coming by. WTG!

SEPT. 6, 2007 - 130.5#8)

HOL Baby, you are too sweet...
After we cleaned the party barge (to sell), friends who helped us brought oatmeal/nut/ fruit cake and coffee,
and we sat in the newly cleaned boat and enjoyed our snack together.
A cool breeze was blowing on the lake.
That was fun...
Sweet dreams tonight.

SEPT. 7, 2007 - 132.4# :?

Thanks for stopping by, BIK. It looks like you are just about there!
I need to check your journal to see if anything exciting is going on.
Things are going well with us...we went shopping today for some needed furniture
and I'm excited about how nice they will look, when they are delivered next week.
BTW, I think you would make anybody a wonderful and loyal friend.

Thanks, Lizabette. But not much going on in my world. And thanks for saying that about what kind of friend I would make. I don't have very many so sometimes I think something is wrong with me. I mean, if I got out more I would make more friends, but I like to think I am a good friend to the ones I have. Congrats on the new furniture. All we have gotten this year is a new fridge and a new bed and I was very excited about getting both.

SEPT. 8, 2007 - 132# ;)

Saturday already?!
Thanks for the input, BIK. Anybody out there doing furniture refinishing?
I wanted to use an antique table for my kitchen eating table.
We bought some great chairs for it, but now I'm faced with doing something to the table top to make it look reasonably nice!
Without all the hard work of stripping, revarnishing, etc, etc.
(And only the table top.)
Maybe there's some miraculous product that I don't know about, even after searching the internet some.
We can add a glass top to it---but some genius out there please tell me what I can do.
Another subject---all of you guys keep up the good work, even if I'm not reading about it on your journals.
And see you at roll call tomorrow.
Hey, our team, OU is on top right now of Miami---fingers are crossed!!!
Tonight we're planning to go see JOE-BOY in the marching band at Ouchita Baptist Univ. at Arkadelphia. Fingers are crossed, again.
Here's a shot of the table of my dilemma.
I'm waiting...with fingers crossed!

You could try a product called Fornbey's Tung Oil Finish. I had some limited success with it. I don't think it comes even close to stripping and refinishing, though.

Just got home from the Joe's game in Arkadelphia. Great game.
They whomped E. Tex. Bible Univ. good. It's about 12.30 now so can't stay long.
Thanks JO for your input. I'm sure you're right...
And HOL, hope you can find out something from your sil.
We have some pretty nice antiques also, but most are pretty much in their original condition.
Anyway, my friends, I'm going to bed as soon as I finish this.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :-P

SEPT. 9, 2007 - 131.2# 8)

Satisfied with maintaining today. I should take the bull by the horns and go on down a couple more pounds.
Tomorrow I plan to get back into an exercise routine with water aerobics,
and then later get back into the strong women weight resistance or something similar.
Since moving we are about 5 minutes from the Y, so check that out for schedules, etc.
It took us less than 5 minutes to our church this morning...so the convenience is wonderful.
Must start doing something on the table top tomorrow---before my chairs come on Friday.
Also a new sofa and love seat for the living room comes then.
Be nice to be all settled in with little to do about the house except to keep it looking good.
OK, all for now. Thought I'd go do about 20 min. on the Chi machine to catch up for losing sleep last night.
Then see what happens...

SEPT. 10, 2007 - 131.9#

Started work on the table top last night. DH and I sanded the top and applied the first coat of golden oak stain.
Well, not professional, but satisfactory I believe.
I'll call about the glass top today.
Starting back to the Y today for water aerobics.
I really can tell the difference missing my scheduled exercise for weeks now.

9-11 tomorrow ---gotta remember our wonderful troops!
Families need it too, especially those who've lost loved ones...
btw, anybody who desires can use this icon for their journal.

Checking in before bed time...
Great workout at water aerobics today.
Our instructer really challenges us and especially keeps reminding us to keep good posture while exercising.
Nice part, it takes 5 minutes or less to get to the Y.
Oh, I am loving the convenience, and yet we live in a quiet, wooded area.
We're coming along on the table top---we're now on the 2nd coat of poly after sanding and staining.
Another couple coats tomorrow oughta do it.
I'll try for a two mile tape tomorrow at home in between projects.
It feels good to get back in the exercise groove.
So av'voir and g'night, ya'll!
:snooze:
