You look too young to remember The Thornbirds, the big hit novel of the '70s, but I remember that a housewife wrote it on her first attempt. So get those fingers flying, girl!

Landy ...... yep, Irish, Scottish and a tad Native American. Oh and I LOVED the Thornbirds when it was a miniseries, I was *so* in *love* with Richard Chamberlain! Of course the book is better, but my first experience was the tv series.
