Little rewards

Postby Serendipity » November 28th, 2005, 6:45 pm

Hi group,

When you have to lose as much as I have, you need to take time to enjoy each tiny pleasure on the way. I've lost almost 30 lbs and I though I know it's not terribly noticable to the untrained eye ;) I notice:

1. I've found my ankles again.
2. I can get out of the comfy leather chair without the "1,2,3 grit my teeth and hope" method.
3. My rings fit better.
4. My clothes are starting to sag.
5. I can wear the penny loafers that were shoved to the back of the closet because they hurt my feet.
6. I feel so much lighter on my feet!
7. My hands are reminding me of how they used to look before the pounds came.

I could go on, but you get the idea. Each of those little things add up to big things for me. When you have a long way to go, the rewards are so plentiful!

Serendipity,

Congratulations. I truly think that motivation on weight loss is best found on what I call Motivation&Reward program. I set up mine at the beggining.

It consists of putting rewards every 10 pounds that is not food, like "buy new pants" or "cut your hair this way".

For motivations, I have a full list with those things you mentioned. I found out this week I'm not out of breath when I climb the stairs at office. Still has room for improvement, but already there is a huge difference.

That is really great!!!! :D :D :D
