Written Monday, July 10, 2006 while flying home:
59th day on MF, 10:21pm (on the plane, somewhere over Oregon)
Well, the end of another long weekend and I’m already sad to be leaving my peeps in Seattle. At least I was able to enjoy four days off with them. And I was pretty compliant most of the time during my trip (yes, MOST, c’mon now, I was on vacation after all). Friday and Saturday I was very compliant, with the exception of my weekend splurge of soy crisps (I have come to grips that that is my new weekend vice). MF actually made most of the weekend pretty easy for me. I didn’t have a lot of time to eat, much less cook, so the shakes and bars came in so handy. Yesterday I went to Red Robin with my family and frenz and that made for a non-compliant L&G. As good as my intentions were, I ended up having one of my all time favorite dishes there. Yes, the crispy chicken salad….and I did do Ranch dressing (but I did have it on the side and did the fork dip). It was off the hook and worth it so I can’t say I feel a world of guilt over it.
Today was probably my most non-compliant day of the trip. I had my L&G for lunch at Ruby Tuesday’s. Had the petite sirloin with steamed broccoli (even asked them to hold the buttery sauce) and a very small (microscopic size for a salad) Caesar salad. (no croutons, fork dipped the dressing on the side). Not bad, I know, but that was at 3pm. Well, later that night before my flight, I got a call from 2 of my oldest frenz who wanted to meet up at Red Robin (fyi, Red Robin is one of favorite places to grab a bite to eat). No harm, I figured I’d just take in a shake and let them eat what they wanted. Well, one of my frenz ordered the crispy chicken salad and I had to follow suit. So yes, I had 2 L&Gs today (does that 2nd one really qualify as a L&G?!?!!). Because I ate so much, I decided to adjust the # of supplements I take today just cuz I can’t bear the thought of the caloric overload. I know that might not be the best thing to do but I’m not tripping about it.
I mean, hey, I had a wonderful time this weekend and I didn’t do so bad in the whole scheme of things. Besides, I had a weekend FULL of NSVs! The ones that I can remember off the top of my head right now are:
1. While packing for my trip, I came across a pair of really cute black capris that I used to fit. I thought “what the heck? I’m gonna try them on” I did, and they fit!
2. When I got on the plane Thursday night, I was able to get in my seat and slide the armrest down without “crunching” the heck outta my thigh! That was a huge NSV for me.
3. Then I put on my seatbelt and instead of having to let it out to the largest length, I actually had to tighten it, leaving about 5 inches of slack. I travel so much and this NSVactually made me misty-eyed.
4. My sister’s (who is also my best friend) reaction when we landed in Seattle. Her look of approval was enough to qualify as an NSV.
I had one other pretty big victory but it was a scale victory and it still needs to be confirmed. When I got to Seattle, I got on my sister’s scale and it said that I was at 265 which seemed pretty accurate (that would be 39.5 lbs down). If her scale is accurate, then I am now officially in the 40# club cuz today I got on it and it said 263lbs (that would bring the total to 41.5lbs). Since it is not my regular scale and I know how off calibration scales can be, I’m not officially celebrating just yet. Because of the 2 fried chicken salads, I may just wait until Wednesday or Thursday to do my weigh in on my in-laws scale to see where I’m at. I’m not too worried tho cuz I feel great and my clothes are looking better and better on me each day. Besides, this week I’ll be without hubby so that should make it easier to be 100% compliant. He comes home in 6 days so I’m going to challenge myself to make a difference this week so that he can notice something new has changed on me when he gets home.
I cannot believe that tomorrow will actually be 60 days on this plan. I never would’ve imagined that I would’ve stuck with it so long. I’m very excited because I’m now at the point that people are really noticing my losses and are asking that famous question, “what are u doing to lose the weight?” I even have 2 friends that I think are going to give the plan a try within the next couple of weeks.
Well, I’m extremely exhausted as a result of having such a great weekend so I need to try to nap for the last hour of this flight. I’ll actually post this either tonite when I get home (not likely tho) or tomorrow. Here’s to a great start of my third month on this MF plan….gotta keep keeping on…

Not sure if 185 is my goal...I'll know when I get there!
