Like so many others, I'm back...

Postby mel » January 12th, 2007, 1:51 pm

I started Medifast on September 6, 2006. I lost 30 pounds in about 7 weeks. I was scheduled to have a breast reduction just before Thanksgiving. As a precaution, I started eating more and more calories before, during, and after the surgery. I didn't want the lack of calories to jeopordize my recovery. I didn't make great choices. I only somewhat regret it.

I'm back now. I finally started today. I can't even tell you how many "last days" I've had over the last month, only to find some excuse to push it to the next day. When my husband came home last night and told me that a Food Bank benefit we're associated with was coming up next month, that was just the motivation I needed to get started.

Last year, around the time of this benefit, I had a 7 month old child (and therefore an excuse for carrying around the extra baby weight) and had just started Weight Watchers. The day after I started Weight Watchers, I found out that my grandfather was dying, on the other side of the country. We flew up the next day and (I'll only stick to details involving diet) ate pizza for a week. There wasn't any way I was going to be able to deal with a baby, my grandfather dying, being out of town, and dieting.

When I got back, I did Weight Watchers for a while, but found I needed something more strict. I was told to lose as much weight as possible in the six months between breast feeding and breast surgery. A while later, I found Medifast. The rest is... well... in the beginning of this post.

Long story short (yeah, right) I'm back. I've been planning to come back and lose as much weight as possible before I get the OK from my surgeon that I can get pregnant again. I'm planning my next pregnancy for March. That gives me roughly 8-10 weeks to STRICTLY Medifast. I should be able to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I was overweight before I got pregnant, but I was completely comfortable with myself. I'm not now.

That's my story. Sorry to have gone on and on and on.

:)

How's everything going so far Mel? Mel did you start a journal? That way I can stay in touch with you there. I'll check again. Maybe I overlooked it. Hope everything is going well! :D
