DAY 79

Well, unfortunately, i am still battling my sinus headache. I figured i wouldn't be able to do a tape but i decided to try and get SOME exercise in by RUNNING loads of clothes up and down the steps. I figured out that not only is this DANGEROUS but it doesn't help a headache either! DUH! Anyhoo, it's not what i would have liked but it was something. I'm tryin to stay in the exercise thing, as little (or non-existent) as it has been for the past few scheduled days. Here's a visual for ya...a 5'10", 206lb woman RUNNING up the steps with a basket overflowing with folded clothes. Well what happens after that? I TRIP, fall to my side (no i didn't get hurt, thank goodness) and the entire basket of clothes falls back to the bottom of the steps. Needless to say, all the clothes needed REFOLDING! I did this a few times (the step running, nt the falling). So has MF left me clumsy? My son asked me, "why are you walking around so fast?" I told him my head didn't feel up to us doing the tape tonight but i wanted to try to get a little extra calorie burn. Of course he had a 14 year old boy's response of "well running around like that, we might as well do the dvd, it can't make your head hurt anymore than that but you won't look as crazy". Jeez, kids, you gotta love em. Sad part is...he was probably right! Good night all!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » January 8th, 2008, 10:23 pm

Oh My gosh!

I was laughing so hard at your description because I can SO relate! I've been sick since New Year's Eve and today was the first day I haven't been on some form of quil (night or day). I just want to burn some calories, move my body, but I don't want to relapse (again, I was feeling better Friday and did hip hop abs!).

So I was doing the same thing...heading out to the dumpster constantly, jogging up the stairs, etc...then I started thinking "just get on the pilates machine, it's safer!"

I hope you feel better soon!

I am so glad you didn't hurt yourself but that is a funny story! I bet you looked like a speed freak walking around the house so fast. A lot of people on meth go on cleaning binges.

You know... i just gotta say, "boy does my scale have JOKES!" One day i was 208.7, next day 205.9, following day 207.4. Dede once told me that she only believes her scale on Sundays and i think i am going to have to go with that. My weight seems to be fluctuating sooo much within a week, i don't know what is real anymore. I used to update my ticker daily if there was a change but now i think i will only update on Sundays. I am not doing anything differently (i don't think) but i am going to re-evaluate my food journal because my weight has not jumped around like THIS before (i dont think). So i hope everyone's day went well. Biki, glad you dont have too much pain. I'm sure i will be back on later this evening so, TTFN!

Ok, here is my usual lecture about starting exercise and the fluctuations of the scale. REMEMBER this --- as you add exercise, you will start to add muscle. We all know by now that muscle weighs more than fat. The result of adding exercise COULD be that you add some weight, while still losing inches. This is a time when it is REALLY important for you to focus on the measuring tape and your clothing to tell you how you are progressing. Try to use the scale as a guide, but don't let it guide you right off the edge of a cliff.

BTW - so glad you weren't hurt. Thanks for the smile!

You can reevaluate your food journal and maybe you will find something but I can tell you that I had many weeks MF'ing as a daily weigher and had fluctuations that just couldn't be accounted for-they just happen! I just decided not to let it drive me crazy. It taught me that I am not in control of the scale but am in control of what I put in my mouth. It also taught me a lot about patience. It was so freaky I would post the graphs. I had almost the same L&G everyday too. Right now, for now, I am pain free except for some stomach crunch pain. How I am on Percocet and it can take away the pain of a hole in my head but not some crunch pain is beyond me.

thanks biki, for letting me know that i am somewhat normal! ;) Actually, the funny part is that it has not even started to drive me crazy, yet. I know i am doing everything like i am supposed to be (water and all) so i figure i can't worry about it, it will work itself out. I just thought it was strange that the fluctuations were so drastic. If something like this happened if i was on maintenance, i don't know... i might freak out!

Lucky you with no pain. It might seem kinda masochistic but i LOVE the feeling of sore muscles (especially abs). Fools me into believing that i have a six pack. At least that's what it feels like!
