Life being as unfair as it is...

Postby Marseilles » March 3rd, 2006, 12:54 pm

I received a horrible call this morning informing me of the death of a very close family member. My cousin passed away at some point in the night, at 34 years of age. Way too young. At this point noone knows the cause and will not until there are autopsy reports. My poor Aunt also lost her husband a very short time ago so I am absolutely heartsick for her. Let me tell you, as I am three thousand miles away from my family, that I am really being tested with regards to staying program compliant. I am pretty much at a loss and just kind of wandering aimlessly right now...not sure what to do or where to turn.

I am just about to mix a shake, but boy am I fighting the urge to turn to food for comfort right now.

Please keep my family in your thoughts.

Thank you,
-M.

I'm so sorry. I know it's hard, but just remember food isn't REALLY going to make you feel any better.

Hang in there!!

I'm sorry for your loss. Remember, you need to stay healthy. Being healthy is more comforting that junk food. :D

M,

My heart goes out to you and your family. Just like we don't want to turn to alcohol or drugs to feel better, we don't want to turn to food for comfort. And even if we do, it's only temporary; the sad and the hurt and all the other difficult feelings are still there after the food is gone. All of which I know you know, but maybe it's a helpful reminder. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully there's some small level of comfort in knowing that you have the concern and support of everyone on this board.

M,

(((HUGS))) I am so sorry to hear about your cousin passing away. How very tragic, at such a young age. I am sure you would like to be there with your family, during this time and that makes it all that much harder to take. My thoughts and prayers are most certainly with you and your entire family.

I can understand that thinking about staying on program is the last thing you want to think about, worry about. But, you know that going off plan is really not gonna make you feel any better in the long run.

Know that your in my thoughts and prayers..I can't do much but let me know if you just need to talk.

Hugs,
Gina

Thanks, everyone, for your kind thoughts and prayers. I apreciate them more than you know. Although the temptation was there briefly, I am not going to let it derail my successful time on medifast, so I am fine in that regard.

Thank you again!
