Let's try this again...

Postby smeewally » September 11th, 2007, 3:47 pm

Hello,
Figure if I come and make myself "official" it will help me finally get to where I want to be. Mentally, physically, emotionally. You know being held accountable and all.

I've been a loooong time lurker. Lost 42 pounds 2 years ago and got down to 119.

Haven't done so well since then. After a bout with ovarian cancer, 2 surgeries, etc. I've managed to get back up to...185. My heaviest EVER.

So, the free for all ended yesterday. I'm back in the game and ready to get back to where I want to be. 115.
I look forward to getting to know all of you better during this journey.

Thanks Tawanda.
It hasn't been a lot of fun these past 2 years, but I believe the old saying "things happen for a reason". I'd like to think I've maybe spurred a few co-workers and family members to manage their health a little better.
Thanks for your support. I've followed your story during my program starts and stops. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Thank you for the warm welcomes.
Hula, the name comes from a combination of 2 of our cat's names. Smee and Wally. Wally's since passed on, but I can't seem to shake the name. Besides, I'm pretty much guaranteed it's not going to be taken already when I register for something online! :D

Hey smeewally,

Sorry to hear about your difficulties over the last year. I'm glad you're here, and on your way to a healthier, hopefully easier year.

Looks like we're both moving towards a similiar goal, around 70 lbs.

Here's to us both, look forward to hearing all your losses, and hopefully hearing how much better you're feeling.

Welcome Smeewally. Sorry to hear of your recent struggles with ovarian cancer but so glad you are here to continue on with your healthy life and share with us. My husband is a 12 year cancer survivor this coming December. I'd be interested in any information/advice you have to offer in regards to your experience with ovarian cancer.

Thanks for the welcome LAWoman and Elizabeth.
Looking forward to spending time with you too.

Elizabeth feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I was actually quite lucky and my tumor was found in the early stages. I didn't need chemo or radiation. The surgeries seem to have taken care of the problem for now. I am monitored with tests every 3 months and a CT scan annually

Howdy, Smee ~

We're happy to have you join us on the journey. We are confident you will soon be in the Medigroove and melting off those unwanted pounds.

We appreciate knowing more about you, too. You came through your cancer experience with a neat attitude – looking at the challenge of cancer as a way of making others more aware of their own health is a good thing. Thanks for telling us about how your health is being monitored.

Hula, I wondered about Smee's name, too. Wally Cat lives on!
