Postby dmhearts » March 27th, 2007, 7:08 pm

I was just wondering if anyboby knew what the calorie count
should be for the L/G meal? Also, what about sodium?

I believe the L&G is supposed to be around 300 calories with most of that coming from your protein. Sodium should be kept on the low side, but I don't have a specific number. I'm sure someone else will have that answer for you.

This is from the Nurse's call with Lorie Anderson on December 5, 2006:
Information on your Lean and Green meal
- 300-380 calories
- 80 of these calories are green (no more than 10 carbs in the green)

Is it just me? I never worried about the calories as long as I was sticking to the program. I despise counting calories. That's why Medifast works so well for me. All the work is done in advance and I don't need to worry about the numbers. But that's just me. If you wanna count, go for it.

I'm with you Jo. I was just answering the question with what info I had. I never actually worry about counting the calories.

Fitday allows me to see my calories and very often my green has 10 calories! I would have to eat a lot of lettuce to get up to 80 calories. I add radishes and cucumber but even then it just doesn't add up. Every once in a while I eat green beans or spinach and they have more calories. But like Joleen said it is a great thing not to have to count calories.

I agree with Jo! If you follow what is outlined in the quickstart guide, you should be right on point. I don't count calories or sodium either. I try to keep it nice and easy!

Well according to the official Medifast dietitians the lean portion should be: between 245-350 calories, less than 5g carbs, more than 35g protein and less than 20g fat so it seems like green should be between 35-55 calories going by the L&G together on the nurse's call right?

As Jo stated, if you just follow the guide and not focus on calories, it all works out. Trying to keep track of calories in the L&G is just another stress that I don't think I need to have.
