You guys are so wonderful, thanks for all the kind comments!
Lisa - thanks for saying you can tell, there are days that I wonder if it's noticeable, and others when I think it's really dramatic. But I wasn't sure if the pictures showed it, especially bc I didn't do a side picture - which is a pretty substantial difference. My friends and family say that the biggest change is just that I physically take up less space, I call it my land mass! :-)
Supermom - You HAVE to come to NYC! There's no place more awesome (In my humble opinion), there's something for everyone, and you can't ever be bored. Perhaps you should treat yourself to a trip when you've reached goal, because you'll enjoy the city more being able to walk everywhere and not get tired! I'd love to meet you! Regarding the self-confidence, I was very fortunate to have parents who always told my sister and I that we could do anything, be anything, strive for anything, and achieve our dreams. My weight has always been my albatross, the thing I can't conquer or defeat, but everything else has been in place. I guess I am just comfortable with what I bring to the table - and you all should be as well. Be aware of what value you bring to this world, intellect, kindness, bravery, dedication, loyalty, humor, love, etc. You bring these attributes to your family every day - what on earth do you not have to be proud of and to give you confidence? Step up, Supermom, look at yourself in the mirror, and give yourself the credit that's due.
Pashta - Thanks, hon! I am 5'9, which, when obese, makes me feel like I am the biggest woman in the world. If/when I get thin, it will make me feel sexy. Right now, I am sitting on the fence! :-)
Thanks to all of you for your warmth!
